  1. An orgy?, Fman is sure to post in here now.
  2. The no-no doesn't bother me. In fact I want the Padres to throw one first so the mets are the only team left without the no-no.
  3. Minaya has some positives to hang his hat on this year, I'm thinking about the young ones that have come through. Weather they outweigh the negative is Jeff's call.

  5. What do you want to see? 25 -5 ?...it's not happening, 5-25 might though. Bobby Ojeda was trying to sell the "it's not over yet" ticket two nights ago. It's over Bobby. In all likelihood they will win 14/15 and lose 15/16. Jerry knows he's gone and what vexes me there is that this month could be used with a manager who's eye is firmly set to next year and beyond, the GM too for that matter. What do you want?
  6. batmagadanleadoff wrote: I remember the play me or trade me quotes, which were then cleaned up and politically corrected, presumably after Frenchy conferred with his people. And even then, he was working on Jerry behind the scenes for more PT. What kind of message is being delivered when a rightfielder plays almost every day even though he on-bases under .300? If I was an outfielder behind Frenchy on the depth chart, I'd be hoping for Frenchy to crack an ankle or something. You're taking the piss right? My memory of his reduced playing time was of him being disappointed and and then having a closed door with Jerry . I don't remember any quotes that made me think he was a prick , I do remember SNY showing him with a scowl on his face during one of those first games he was sitting.

In between railing (correctly) about the Jets' shoddy treatment of backup QB Kellen Clemens, Carton and Boomer were going off about how nonsensical a move this is, and the message it sends to the fanbase. I know how we feel, and how most of the informed-fan circles in which I traffic feel, but I wonder: do we have the numbers? Or do most Met fans think Carton's way-- that trading Francoeur (and Barajas and Cora) are "giving up" moves? I have often wondered the same thing while listening to the tripe. Who are these people, why is this board so different?, are we all senile like Gammons?
  8. Actually if anytthing I was surprised at how good an outfielder he was.....my memories are of him swinging from his heals in just about every at bat.
  9. Even the satire is depressing. Joaquin Arias Bats: R Throws: R Plays: ss, 2b, 1b, 3b Age: 26 and 10 days Birthplace: Santo Domingo, DR A throw-in in the big Alex Rodriguez-Alfonso Soriano deal, Arias had been bouncing around and was out of options and designated for assignment. The Rangers were forced to move him or lose him anyhow, so the deal makes a goofy bit of sense for both teams. Kind of looks like a young Dominican Billy Martin. Looks like Kobe in his mug shot.
  10. @SI_JonHeyman: hearing francoeur is "probably'' gone from mets. heres another sign. RT @SurfingTheMets Francoeur's locker being cleaned out.
  11. @SI_JonHeyman: trade being discussed would send infielder joaquin arias to #mets for francoeur
  12. Pagan is day to day with right wrist tendinitis. Fman has a thread for that. This is a great looking lineup. Wish we saw a variation of it earlier.
  13. I'll drive him, who's coming with me?
  14. Or is he?...... On the Wfan today I think there are two things: 1) He has a history and a good working relationship with Omar Minaya and 2) he is one guy that, though Jeff Wilpon will not always like what he hears from Bobby, I think they can have a relationship where Bobby could say to Jeff, No, were not doing this, thats the wrong thing, and in the end theyll win out together, because they have a mutual respect. I just think now is the right time to bring Bobby back.
  15. Rajah Clemens is in the jurors box, of all the dramatic things , OMG...ROJAH CLEMENS IS IN THE JURORS BOX
  16. Dickey, who is set to make millions this winter Is he? Great story , great guy.....let's do this
  17. @SI_JonHeyman: keith henrnandez may be a better announcer than he was a ballplayer. he is THAT good. His head wil be as big as Mr. Mets.
  18. I'm with kase on Jerry , not on Hojo though, he's gots to go.
  19. When did he turn into Jamiroquai?
  20. Pagan. Castillo. Beltran. Wright. Davis. Francoeur. Blanco. Tejada. Pelfrey. DPLennon #Mets need infielder, call up Luis Hernandez from Buffalo. Jesus Feliciano optioned.

I think he's due that next year Ashie as the last year of that deal.

That oblique is barking right? As for Tejada, a change is as good as a rest, maybe he'll start hitting.
  23. Got it guys, yep , certainly it's different, more prudent too perhaps.
  24. Dibble is a fool , that we know. What about the Nolan Ryan's out there , is his philosophy all that different than Dibble's? I am probably being unfair to Ryan, but is he trying to get his org to have pitchers go deeper, stop caressing them etc?
