I know a lot of Brewers fans that HATE Braun. Actually, I'd say the majority of them that I know do. Given the choice between watching a struggling team with Braun or watching a struggling team with the rookie OF Davis, I imagine most might lean towards Davis.

Yeah, what Edgy said. It's not that he cheated. It's that he told the fan base very emphatically that he did NOT cheat...and the fans backed him 100%. He took his suspension last season and has never really explained himself to fans. I don't even remember an apology...although there may have been one. If there was, it wasn't nearly enough to make up for the level of disappointment. He is Milwaukee's David Wright. Imagine if Wright won an MVP, then tested positive for PEDs, held a press conference at the ballpark telling everyone he was innocent, got off on a technicality and then eventually took a suspension because he was going to be caught again. I am not surprised at the rumor that Milwaukee wants him gone and may be willing to eat some of his big contract in order to move him. I imagine that the Brewers aren't planning on being truly competitive next year and Braun would have been the reason that fans bought tickets anyway. But that all disappeared when he took the suspension. I can tell you that most Brewers fans I know will have no trust or admiration for him anymore...even if he does return to All-Star form once off the juice.

Average Monday home attendance was 27,187 in 2013 - 65% of capacity...plenty of seats to spare. Also, it's another jersey option and jerseys don't sell cheap.

Yuck. Those are ugly. Do a portion of the proceeds from these jersey sales support vets or troops in any way? Doesn't look like it from what I can see. Looks like this idea is as much about supporting the Wilpons as it is about supporting the troops.

Let's Go, Mets! Ah...feck.

Saw Gravity this afternoon, and I loved it for all of the reasons Edgy and Vic have mentioned. I'm not a big fan of Bullock, but she was impressive in what had to be an emotionally demanding role. I don't know that I have seen a 3D movie in a theater since I was about 8 (Creature From The Black Lagoon, 1954)...and to speak to FK's point about being the type of movie that 3D was made for, I really can't imagine this movie being nearly as effective in 2D. I don't watch a lot of superhero/fantasy/CGI-action flicks (much less at a theater and much, much less in 3D), but I was amazed at the tension that the 3D images built on their own and found myself completely immersed in the film, the action and the story. I have never experienced any other 3D film that has fully pulled that off. This afternoon is certainly the closest I have ever come to truly imagine what the conditions of space must be like. Pretty effective film. Four stars.

Does anyone else think this may have been the decision they had made since the beginning of the injury but that the Mets may have wanted to wait until just after the season ended to announce it? There weren't that many more fannies in seats during the last month of 2013, but they're could have been a few extra thinking that a truly competitive Mets team was just right around the corner. Why give the impression that they are going to let him finish trying the rehab, but then don't? If this is truly the best decision (and I don't disagree that it is), wouldn't having the surgery over a month ago have been better than wasting potential post-surgery rehab time? Is this traditionally a decision that is solely left to the pitcher?

Looks like congrats are in order for marathon...just barely. Great season, guys...I look forward to next year.

Good for Collins. I'm not sure about expectations either, but he now has the potential to be one of the longest tenured managers in club history without having won more than 77 games in his first three seasons with the team.
