  1. I support moving on from Terry more with each embarrassing loss.

  3. I'd shut him down. If he is starting a long, slow goodbye, then we need all he can give in 2015.
  4. Jeter's been put on waivers. I wish I could pick him up and make virtual money off of my virtual fans by giving them the opportunity to see him play his last games for my (crappy) virtual team.
  5. Rinse, repeat. Rinse, repeat. Rinse, repeat. Rinse, repeat. Is five times enough to get the stink off?
  6. Again, I think it is more likely that Montero will be the September call up than Syndergaard. Montero threw 155 innings in 2013 and has only thrown 80 this season due to being dinged up a couple of times. Noah tossed 117 innings last year and has already pitched 107 in 2014. Also, Montero has looked very good of late and is having a slightly better overall season than Syndergaard. I believe that one of the benefits of keeping all of our pitching at the deadline means that we don't have to rush any of the young ones to the show. I'd like to see Noah get his ERA under 4 against AAA hitters before putting him in front of big leaguers.
  7. I'm glad the Chris Young experiment is over. I wish him well...while the talent may not have been there, I personally don't fault him for a lack of effort.
  8. Anyone but Milwaukee. Honestly, once the Mets are eliminated, this season will be over for me and I'll stop paying attention all together other than to check in on the Mets' youngsters every once in a while.
  9. What a punch in the neck this game was. I was reveling in Harper's failure all series...and he hits a walk off HR? I listened to the extra frames on the radio. I don't know if I've listened to Howie at all this year. Tim Byrdak was filling in for Josh. How long has that been going on? On edit: Nevermind. Took the time to read the rest of this thread.
  10. Let's get some runs!
  11. It's a list like that that makes me salivate for the future of this team.
  12. http://www.fxguide.com/quicktakes/how-the-mill-made-its-marionettes/ Some behind the scenes on those spots. The videos don't seem to work but plenty of text and stills.
  13. Wheeler was ugly tonight. Never thought he would last 6+. Pleasantly surprised.
  14. I'd like to see Montero back up in September as well if he is healthy.
  15. This may be premature...but I was wrong about this thread. I hadn't seen the Mets too many times in the weeks before the AS break, but I've caught nearly every game since. Their offense is still mostly shitty and I'm still not sure they'll break .500 this year, but they are better than I thought they were coming out of the break. Best of all, the fans at Citi are showing some life in support of the team and the youngsters (Duda, d'Arnaud, etc.) are starting to believe in themselves and their teammates. 16. That was a fun game.

  18. I'm OK with Juan's dive. He had no chance at the ball...but he's laying out for a teammate on a losing club. That's not nothing.
  19. Got to this one on Amazon Prime. I'm not a huge Star Trek fan (though I've seen about 90% of the movies and the original series). I thought it was fun and exciting. Out of all of the re-boots of classic movies/series, I like what Abrams has done with the ST movies. My biggest peeve was all of the fake lens glare he used and spent the last 20 minutes of the movie freaking out that all of this glare would also make into SW Episode VII. He says it won't
  20. Missed that one. The Mets lost that game, dropping the record to 4-4. Colon went 0 for 3 with a K and Young went 1 for 3 with a run scored.
  21. By my math, the Mets are 4-3 this season when batting the pitcher 8th in 2014. Eric Young is the only non-pitcher to bat ninth in an intraleague game this season. He has 6 hits in 25 ABs with 2 runs, 3 RBI, 2 walks and 5 Ks so far in the pitchers spot. deGrom and Niese are the only pitchers to bat eighth. Combined, they are 1 for 15 with a walk and 9 Ks in those situations.
