  1. Woody and Milledge don't give me anymore confidence against lefties than Valentin and Chavez.

That just makes me think about how much better Jose Reyes is going to be once he learns how to really play the game. He's a terrific player now based on raw skill and talent. Once he has a couple more years of mistakes and experience to learn by...the sky's the limit.
  3. Scoreless streak ends at 25 innings. A Wright error with the sacks packed makes it 2-0 Dodgers going to the bottom of the first.
  4. Thank you..I think so too!
  5. No pictures of the wife from the NYC trip. All I have now is our engagement photo. I'll update the wedding thread from the non-baseball forum once I have digital wedding pics.
  6. Thanks for all the great advice! Our trip was very nice. We got into town just before noon on Monday and took the time before the game to walk through Chinatown, Flushing Meadows, the tennis area and of course, the area outside Shea. As you guys know, the game on Monday pretty much stunk, but I was still in heaven rooting with Mets fans, hanging out at the stadium and soaking it all in. Tuesday we took the train into Manhattan and walked through the Village. We made it back just before the rain. Of course we walked back down to the stadium hoping against hope there would be a game...but the rain kept coming. Because of our erring on the side of caution we only saw the early game of the double header on Wednesday. We left our seats soon after the victory, walked right outside, caught a cab, got our boarding passes, and went through security in less than a half hour. Literally! We were in a bar in LaGuardia watching the bottom of the first of the second game. Had we known it would be that easy we would have stayed a little longer, but I was still happy to see a Mets win. We got stranded at Ohare because our flight from NY was delayed over 2 hours. We ended up renting a car and driving from Chicago. Even with the snag at the end, it was a great trip and it's a trip we plan on making every two years or so.

  8. SteveJRogers wrote: ="TransMonk"]Why is Chris Worthless still in this game? Giving David Wright the day off. I doubt coming out of a six week slump David needs a day off. Even if you start Woodward (like Willie has in a third of all Mets games this year), at least put a bat in there that can make a difference late in the game. Wright should have been pinch hitting in that spot.
  9. Why is Chris Worthless still in this game?
  10. Reyes would have made it even if it was handled cleanly.
  11. David Wright pinch hitting in the 8th.
  12. Quite the pitchers duel through 4 innings. No score.
  13. The fact that Glavine went 5 and threw 93 pitches makes it a good start in my book. His arm didn't fall off...or worse, go numb.
  14. Hey Borkowski! Walks kill.
  15. Poor Carlos...he can't figure out why the crowd is yelling LoDuuuuuuuuca whenever he comes to the plate. Sounds like Shea last year.
  16. Wild pitch. The Astros awnser our two we shouldn't have scored with a couple they shoudn't have of their own.
  17. What is Wandy short for? I guess DoubleyouRod just doesn't roll off the tongue like the other Rods.

  20. Welcome back, Your dreams were your ticket out. Welcome back, To that same old place that you laughed about. Well the names have all changed since you hung around, But those dreams have remained and they're turned around. Who'd have thought they'd lead ya (Who'd have thought they'd lead ya) Here where we need ya (Here where we need ya) Yeah we tease him a lot cause we've got him on the spot, welcome back, Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.
  21. 4 out outing by Fogg. We'll see some Rocky Mountain relievers tonight. 7-0 Good guys...still top of two.
  22. Jose Valentin says, "Me too!" KABOOM! 5-0 Mets after 5 minutes.
  23. Monster? Box? I feel FOGGy.
