If I'm reading you right it seems like you'd do it again the next time because he's paid a lot and that's why he was brought to New York. My goal is to win the game regardless of how much he's paid or why he was brought to New York. If he's struggling, lift him. This is a simple concept to me. He's paid a lot and we brought him to New York because he is one of the best in the game at closing. I wouldn't stick with him because of the money, but because he's really good at.
  2. He's the closer. He gets paid big money to close big games. Sometimes, in fact very rarely, that means getting 6 out saves. Bringing him in to pitch the 8th was the right move. If he would have mowed them down 1-2-3, the 9th would have been a no-brainer. His struggles in the 8th would have made me squirm as a manager...but there's no way I'm not trotting him back out there to do his job. And given the implosive nature of the bullpen lately, I wouldn't have had any more confidence in Heilman or Sosa to save the game. Isn't this why Wagner is in New York?
  3. It has it's applications but seems to be overused.
  4. Our bullpen is atrocious. 2nd time this week the Mets have come back from 5 runs down (and then more later on) and still lost the game.
  5. Pat Burrell makes me want to be friends with Chipper.
  6. Wagner is the 11th pitcher in the game.
  7. If the bullpen effs this up I may have to start throwing things at work.
  8. God, I've missed Endy!
  9. And he's something like 2 for 12 with a bunch of pop-ups.
  10. I feel alot better than I did a half an hour ago.
  11. I want 'em all back now...c'mon Jose!
  12. Holy crap, Lastings isn't completely useless.
  13. Well this is craptacular.
  14. Joe Smith is now on the minor league DL as well...though he should be back.

They may have been for the first two games of the series. I don't feel like the Mets played game 3 all that badly...many more tough breaks went Philly's way. Still, it doesn't change the fact that a loss is a loss.
  16. Regardless, the Mets had what seems like about 17 other ways they could have won this game.
  17. Best call of the series so far. This crew sucks...but Marlon did interfere.
  18. Endy and Marlon in to try and save the day.
  19. It's Rally Time! C'mon guys!
  20. Happy B-day, Rowan. Here's your sombrero. It's golden.
  21. The 3rd guy in the Philly booth seems to hate Milledge more than I do.
  22. Perez likely done as well as he leads off the next frame and has over 100 pitches. 10 Ks for Ollie.
