  1. Did we miss this on Monday? See ya Chip. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-tbs-caray&prov=ap&type=lgns Chip Caray and TBS part ways ATLANTA (AP)Chip Caray has called his final baseball game for TBS. Network spokesman Jeff Pomeroy confirmed Monday that TBS and the announcer have decided to part ways. A son of late Braves broadcaster Skip Caray and a grandson of famed broadcaster Harry Caray, Chip Caray had called first-round playoff games for TBS during the past three seasons. He originally worked with Tony Gwynn(notes) and Bob Brenly, then teamed with Ron Darling and Buck Martinez. Caray also was part of the networks Sunday regular-season package. Pomeroy said no replacement has been picked. Since the end of the 2009 MLB Playoffs, weve had several discussions with Chip Caray regarding 2010 and beyond. Both sides agree that now is the right time to move ahead on different paths, the network said in a statement.

  3. hmmm...I always pictured him landing in Milwaukee. I hope he is as good for the Phils as he was for us.
  4. Only 1 selection available.
  5. ROY Hallway is where fans would be able to reminisce about the awesome first seasons of Tom Seaver, Jon Matlack, Darryl Strawberry and Doc Gooden while waiting in line for the restroom. Of course Jackie Robinson, Don Newcombe, Joe Black and Jim Gilliam will ultimately be included as well.
  6. 1. Carpenter 2. Lincecum 3. Jurrjens

  8. I like Marquis if it's in addition to a legit #2. Hopefully, it would not be Marquis as a #2. Marquis would be the new Traschel...which is great as long as he is not expected to carry the team.
  9. Well, by our count (as unscientific as it may be), I'm only showing 1298 games lost to injury, while BP is showing "days lost" at 1451. So maybe they're counting off-days as well. Still, I'm not sure how our dollar amount exceeded theirs with our days coming in lower.
  10. Niese missed 51 games and had a $400,000 salary = $125,925.93 Pagan missed 36 games and had a $575,000 salary = $127,777.78 Redding missed 37 games and had a $2,250,000 salary = $513,888.89 Sheffield missed 15 games and had a $400,000* salary = $37,037.04 *Mets were only paying $400,000...the balance of the $14,000,000 was paid by Detroit. (15 games would have cost us $1,296,296.30 on $14 Mil)
  11. I can't seem to find a 2009 salary for R Martinez. He missed 111 games by my count. Anybody know if we paid him?
  12. John Maine made $2,600,000 in 2009. He missed from June 7th thru Sept 12 (89 games). (89/162)(2600000)= $1,428,395.06
  13. Santana earned $18,876,139 but last pitched on 8/20/09 leaving the Mets with 41 games without his services. (41/162)(18,876,139)= $4,777,294.44
  14. Putz earned $6,000,000 but last pitched on 6/4/09 leaving the Mets with 110 games without his services. (110/162)(6,000,000)= $4,074,074.07
  15. I think Hudson would be an upgrade. Phillips is younger than Luis at least.
  16. Lackey...pitching, pitching, pitching.
  17. I agree, 2006 was a lot of fun...but it was a horrible ending to a great year. For me, the way that season ended hurt more than 2007 and 2008. They were the best baseball team that year and should have won it all.
  18. Hardy was a fan favorite, but was miserable in 2009. Milwaukee needs to make room for Alcides Escobar. They are going to be faster if nothing else. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/minorleagues/prospects/y2009/profile.jsp?t=p_top&pid=444876
  19. I would say that 2001, 2007 and 2008 were bigger disappointments. This season was over in June for all intents...I've been over it since then.
  20. Howard can't slump forever Pedro has more left than Andy P. It's win or season over...and I can't go through the whole winter listening to my front-running, bandwagon-jumping YLDB brother blathering on about the MFY.
  21. If I'm Philly, I start Lee in a potential Game 7 on short rest. It's not as if all hands aren't on deck. He'll have 3 months to rest before ST.
  22. Pedro pitching makes it easier for me to root for the Phillies.
  23. In pen now: Game 5 - 3:26
