  1. Howie says that the start has been moved to 1:30pm, but he thinks that is unrealistic. We'll see.
  2. I feel for the dude. He seemed like the type of guy that got really frustrated about pitching badly.
  3. Wake up! Reyes SS Turner 2B Beltran RF Murphy 3B Pagan CF Bay LF Duda 1B Thole C Capuano P
  4. Nope...I'll get Nats vs. Pale Hose. I won't be watching that.
  5. Dickey 4 Isringhausen 1 Beato 1 Parnell 1 Turner 1 Duda 1 Reyes 1
  6. Willie Harris: 33 Doesn't look a day over 32.
  7. AAA Heat Miser, maybee. Nick (and likely Duda) will get their chances in August and September.
  8. I'm still with Sandy on his decision to wait (the hindsight I referred to is more his than yours). And I still bet that Jose would have waited it out even if the Mets had made him an offer. Other than Jose saying the obligitory "I love New York. I want to play my whole career here" (what else is he supposed to say?), Jose has never given any indication that there would be a hometown discount or that he wasn't going to test the FA market.
  9. I'm still of the opinion that the 2017-18 Mets have no business paying $20M/year to a 34-35 year old shortstop...no matter how good his 2011 numbers are.

Reyes was merely average in 2009-2010 while missing considerable time with injury. Hindsight is 20/20 and Sandy had no way of knowing that Reyes was going to blow up in this manner. He ran the risk of overpaying at a time when the team had no extra money to overpay. Also, we have no way of knowing if Jose was going to test the market even if a Mets offer was made last winter. The way I see it, both sides were better off waiting to see how 2011 was going to pan out for Jose. Reyes is sitting better off than the team right now. If a trade is there...I'm not opposed to taking it if there is value.
  11. He's hitting .353 over his last nine games (since sitting the two out). The Mets are 3-6 in those games. The Mets were better when Bay was sucking.
  12. metsblog wrote: ...according to Dunn, Reyes said once again he wants to finish his career with the Mets he just doesnt want any distractions during the season. Isn't this a distraction every single day? What exactly does he have to negotiate? He's got an agent. If he were to sign an extention, the distration would go away.
  13. All the Mets can do is try...which they did and they will...but they will most likely be out-bid. I'm still opposed to trading him unless we get value back...otherwise, I'm all for the 50 doubles, 20 triples, 50 steals ride for 2011 and the two draft picks. That said...my optimism for him returning in 2012 is all but gone.
  14. Trade that money-grubbing bum!!!
  15. I stand and I applaud -- I respect history.
  16. Reyes 1 Beltran 1 Thole 1 Tejada 1 Beato 1
  17. Pelfrey 5 Belran 2 Bay 1 Reyes 1 Turner 1
  18. That's a good thing. If he had switched to Boras, my hope that he would return next season would have given up the ghost.
  19. Haren's last 10 starts: 2-4, 3.16 ERA, 60 K, 13 BB Pelfrey's last 10 starts: 3-3, 3.92 ERA, 36 K, 13 BB This is a game where the Met offense needs to prove it's better than the Angel offense.
  20. Capuano 2 Acosta 1 Pagan 1 Paulino 1
  21. Ugh...our last 5 losses have been by a combined 6 runs. These are should haves, not could haves.
  22. Gwreck with both lineups below...
