  1. Izzy gives the run back on one pitch. Damn that Votto.
  2. Two run lead. Three. More. Outs.
  3. We need 3 outs. Nice inning by Parnell.
  4. Ugh...Acosta strikes again.
  5. David Wright batting average when he hit the DL: .226 David Wright batting average after his first 4 ABs today: .270 15/32 since coming back. Damn.
  6. Two bases loaded doubles in the same game? I like this team!
  7. Thole drives in Duda...5-2 good guys.
  8. Duda!!! 3 run double!!! Woot!
  9. Sac-bunt goes for a single for Pagan. Bags juiced...no outs for Bay.
  10. I think CF needs to be addressed in the offseason. Pagan's 2010 was nice, but he has regressed on both offense and defense.
  11. Cappy gives it right back.
  12. And a run! 1-0 good guys.
  13. Murph keeps on hitting and a steal.
  14. He's a 10/5 guy, so he can veto any trade.

  16. attgig wrote: interesting. minus santana, we had the same roster coming into 2011, but there was a lot less enthusiasm behind it. is Santana the difference maker? would we have been in the thick of things if we had santana all of 11? I think Santana coupled with a full year of Wright and Davis would have put us right around where ATL is. Prolly not enough to catch Philly.
  17. I can get behind this. With the season he's putting up, I would love to see a two-year deal offered by the Mets for about $8M per with some incentives and possibly an option based on games played. I think he might get a longer term deal from an AL team, but I think Carlos really wants to play the field.

  19. These Metsies have just as much of a chance of making the playoffs without Beltran as they had with him. I'm going to enjoy the next two months regardless.
  20. Your New York Potential Broomsticks: Reyes SS Turner 2B Murphy 1B Wright 3B Pagan CF Bay LF Duda RF Thole C Capuano P I really wish Terry would flip Pagan and Duda in the order.
  21. I believe it's Turner, with Harris playing second.
  22. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Reds really playing like shit this week. Amazing to me that both teams started this series with the same record, but the Reds have looked so much worse. The funny thing is, if things break right today, the Reds could end up just as far out of a playoff spot as the Mets are.
  23. I re-read this thread yesterday. In March, I feared we might have all been a little too optimistic on Beltran, but there were a lot of great predictions in this thread. Wheeler is a far better prospect than I thought we would receive for him back in Spring Training.
  24. Frayed Knot wrote: I saw that his highest pitch-count inning was 16. That's often one of his lowest. He even had two single-digit pitch innings. This. And I'll echo that the Reds helped him out and most teams don't.
  25. Always better to have too many options than not enough.
