  1. Nice to see you, Nymr. I agree with his selections.
  2. Enough said.
  3. Varitek? .264 vs. lefties last year. I don't watch the junior circuit enough to know anything about his defense.
  4. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: I wanted him to succeed but in the few chances he had he never really forced the issue. This. I will root for him in Pittsburgh.
  5. The twitters say that Pat Misch signed a minor-leatgue deal with the Phillies.
  6. Vic Sage wrote: Jake fox. Per BB Ref: November 22, 2011: Signed as a Free Agent with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
  7. So, he's basically telling us to stand pat with internal options at SS and RF and to go cheap and deep in the bullpen? I'm not sure it fixes anything, but it certainly sounds like what Sandy intends to do.
  8. I'm alright with giving Thole another year at 60% of the starts. If Paulino wasn't sticking to Warthen's plan last year, then they need to find somebody who will. Personally, I think that if we're bringing back Pelf, he might benefit from having a vet catcher to help him stick to the plan. If we can get one thing out of 2012 rebuild, I'm hoping it is getting the young guys on the pitching staff to be more consistent. I want the vet catcher who is most capable of helping with that. I'm not expecting him to be the go to guy off the bench.
  9. The Royals and free-agent RHP Jonathan Broxton have agreed to a one-year deal, according to Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com.
  10. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Huey Lewis' finest performance on film since his Back to the Future cameo, no doubt. No love for Short Cuts?
  11. I've been avoiding this one. I'm expecting a Phantom Menace letdown.
  12. I'm rooting for him.
  13. Edgy DC wrote: Doesn't tweek me. If the Mets can't have him, I can't think of a better employer for him than the Yankees' divisional arch-rivals. I'd be very happy if Bobby went to Boston...as opposed to anywhere in the NL.
  14. I thought if they would have taken out all of the Billy Joel stuff, it would have been a great short documentary of Shea. No offense to Joel fans. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Mostly because there was much more about the stadium and much less concert footage than I thought there would be. I missed above that Greg was in it and was happy to see him.
  15. Aaay!
  16. [sir Neck]
  17. Edgy DC wrote: I'd enjoy it even more if the 30 interleague games weren't comprised of two three-game series against a particular division, but a barnstorm one-game stop against every team in the other league, with them barnstorming into your town later in the year. Ah, yeah! Great idea! I never thought of that. Now it's going to drive me nuts that they DON'T do this.
  18. Yeah, not for nothing, but Mike looks better than all of 'em.
  19. What an attention whore.
  20. Gwreck wrote: How would you feel about contracting Oakland and Tampa, moving the Brewers back to the AL (along with the Astros), and going back to 2 divisions of 7 teams each? Best proposal I've heard yet.
  21. This proposal actually increases IL games from 15-18 to 30, but whatevs. It's always going to suck as long as there are 30 teams and we have those stupid "rivarlry" games. I still hate it and will every season.
  22. Squatchee...I never knew it had a name.
  23. 70's: Tug 80's: Doc 90's: Franco 00's: Piazza
  24. Edgy DC wrote: An impressive beard. This. And the gift registry.
  25. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I especially like the part about the blue cap and the grey road uniforms. I'm not sure what took them so long.
