I'm late to the ball...what happened to Kirk?
  2. TransMonk
Thole and Tejada taking those extra bases were questionable calls.

I like that lineup a lot. If Davis and Duda are mashing, that lineup can be downright scary. Tonight is game #81...I hope they end the first half with a bang!

R.A. Dickey is the National Leagues Pitcher of the Month

I could give that a bit of thought.

I like the Wiggy idea. I wonder what Philly would ask for to trade him within the divison.

Guess who is 3 losses worse than the Kansas City Royals going into today's games? Yikes!

We shouldn't have to vote for these things. The system is flawed and ultimately stupid. Wright is clearly and unquestionably the better player so far this season. The fact that "this game counts" is almost sickening.

I'd be willing to give up very little...and nothing off the ML roster. If the Mets are buyers, they should be should be looking for additions and not upgrades. I'd rather get some bullpen help for cash and take our chances with the offense we have than give up anything that may help in the future. I'm all for Quentin on the dirty-cheap.

What would you be willing to give up for Carlos?

Young has now exceeded my expectations for 2012 innings pitched. Keep on keeping on, Stretch!
  12. TransMonk
    Oh...and lets shame the Harangutan!

Yeah, Dickey's still got another start (likely against Philly at home) before the ASB. Not sure when LaRussa's staff will name a starter, tho...so this start is still a pretty big audition.

Ceetar wrote: Bay still on the 7 day? figured they'd transferred him to the 15 by now. (it's been what, 13 days?) I don't think they can. IIRC, the 7 day gets re-upped for another automatic 7 days if the player is not ready. Once you get past 14, then you automatically go on the 15 day DL. I could be mis-remembering, though.

Yeah, the late nights kill me especially if they are losses. But I think I might take in some Vin Scully tonight.

His mediocre 2011 got him 2 years/$10M (2012-13), plus a 2014 option from the Dodgers. So far, it's working out for L.A.. The Mets only paid him $1.5M for one year in 2011. I think that it worked out OK for the Mets, too.

Davis is now hitting .201! Two-oh-one!

    Wright 2 Murphy 2 Hairston 2 Davis 2 Niese 2
  19. TransMonk
Lost in all of this is that Niese is having a nice little game...back out for the 7th.

This is a lead I hope the bullpen can hold.
  21. TransMonk
OK guys, slow down. Save some for LA.
  22. TransMonk
    Yowsers! KABOOM!
  23. TransMonk
I like when they score runs!
  24. TransMonk
    Multiple runs...very nice!

I've been impressed with both the fileding and hitting of Valbuena this series. Pretty good for a guy I had never heard of.
