  2. I love picturing Duda and Yo just chilling, a couple bros taking BP at the ranch.
  3. I stand corrected, Cards are in fact desecrating the game by wearing green caps. Mets knocking the crap outta Wainwright, 4-nil after 1.
  4. More from Yoenis in his own words. This time from the Players' Tribune. Working on the farm reminds me where I come from, which is something I do not want to ever forget. Because I love where I come from. For me, working on the farm is like meditation. There is a tranquility that I find in it. It also keeps me grounded.
  5. Cardinals thankfully not desecrating the beautiful game of baseball and are dressed the #RightWay, in Cardinal red, with no hint of that gimmicky green.
  6. Spring Training In-Game Gaggle
  7. MLB.tv airing the fake, green game today.
  8. We ignored the Mets and they returned the favor.
  9. Mets allegedly playing the Nats. If we don't talk about it, did a game even happen? No radio/tv. The earth is a dark place.
  10. This 7 min vid by Vice Sports is pretty incredible. It shows Yoenis' incredibly strong family bonds, his ridiculous work ethic, and probably makes everyone in Metdom super nervous when he's climbing trees, chucking 50lb bags of seed, and trying to catch wild pigs. This dude buys all these Batman cars, and still digs a posthole with a goddamn $20 posthole digger. Yo, buy one of these, plz: fft7RHr-wBg
  11. Meetings all morning. How'd Wheeler do?
  12. Something got screwy with those quotes up there, Ceets. To answer you, I don't know of any data that says a player needs x amount of time to be game-ready as opposed to y amount of time. I just think you grossly underestimate how difficult it is, and how much time goes into doing this thing well at this level, especially after missing lots of time due to chronic injuries.

Sandy Alderson, the Mets’ general manager, said Wright would not throw for about two weeks and then would begin doing so gradually. A recovery in time for opening day is most likely out of the question. But Wright refused to put a timetable on his return. He has received medical clearance to swing a bat and play as a designated hitter in spring training games. Wright de-emphasized that, saying his primary focus is to get the shoulder back to health first. I mean he's a pro and doesn't really need 6 weeks of swinging to get up to speed. Probably prioritizing the rehab type stuff. I imagine him showing up as DH then would be the first signs his shoulder is feeling better/throwing. I reject the notion that Opening Day is "most likely" out of the question. I don't think he needs 6 weeks of throwing/fielding to be able to man the position. No need to rush obviously, but if he starts gradually throwing on say March 20th, that's still 2 full weeks before Opening Day. And if he sticks to Minors games( I don't know how the shorter DL stint thing works with the beginning of the season. used to be you could back date by about 10 days) you could even take a few more days onto that. Of course, that's all without other setbacks in the recovery, or other issues. I respectfully reject your rejection. I'd say with the amount of time he's missed he would need as many reps as possible, both offensively and defensively, to get timing back on both ends at the very least. You don't just roll out of bed, especially with a bad back, neck, and shoulder and start hitting MLB pitching and fielding your position at more than a passable level. All this stuff needs continual work to work. If he's able to get reps in minor league games, great.
  14. Hey man, welcome (Wally) Back, Man.
  15. That Tebow pickoff was terrible. And Blevins spring performance continues to be a little worrisome.
  16. For the record, Tebow was late on a first-pitch fastball, looked bad chasing an 0-1 slider, but hung in the AB and bounced into a 4-6-3 to tie the game. He kinda looks crappy, but he put the bat on the ball.
  17. Ducks on the pond for Te-brow. Bases loaded, no one out.
  18. Bats battling back. Yoenis with an infield single, Jay Bruce followed with a moonshot bomb to right, and now a double by Jay Bruce Lite, Lucas Duda. 4-3 Sawx.

Nice work from the in-the-stadium correspondent. You still in the OF grass or move up to some seats? I was always an OF grass guy at ST games.
  21. Looks pretty stiff, the one swing he took was slow and a little long. Wrung up on a backwards K.
  22. A few hard-hit balls off Thor-bun, but he leaves with a runner at first, one in the third, after 47 pitches. 1-0 Mets.
  23. G-Fafif wrote: The Randazzler is doing a nice job meshing with Keith and Ron. yeah, I'd agree. Some great baserunning by Grandy turns nothing into a run, as he tags and moves from 2nd to the 3rd on a lazy fly ball to the left fielder, and then scores from third when Walker gets caught in a rundown.
  24. Just hit 100 on back-to-back pitches. I'd say he looks in pretty decent shape for early March.
