  1. They fired their GM and brought a new guy in. Supposedly the head coach is safe. I guess if Depodesta was in trouble they would have dumped him along with the GM
  2. Wow 8? I'll guess Rusty.
  3. Bob Aspromonte
  4. Armando Reynoso?
  5. I think Kipnis is better, and more likely. Rumors in the Indians blogosphere saying that their pursuit of a Machado deal this winter would be greatly helped by moving Kipnis off the books.
  6. Second hand, someone just told me MLBNetwork is speculating on a potential Harvey for Jurickson Profar deal. I have no idea how accurate that is. Profar has thus far underperformed (to say the least), but he is still only 24.

I'm a little uncomfortable with that. But he only had an ERA that high because -- wait for it -- he pitched to the score. Or so his supporters claim. And tonight during an interview with Morris himself (he's conveniently shown up at the winter meetings) even he said that if he knew back when he was playing that there'd be as much emphasis on ERA then he could have done something about it. I don't even know how to parse either of those claims. I lived through Jack Morris's career in its entirety. He can't possibly be implying that ERA wasn't emphasized when judging pitchers back during his day, can he?
  8. Gordon is going to play center. Really.

  10. 2009 Florida Marlin Hanley Ramirez?
  11. Two in a row for me but I'm leaving work RIGHT NOW! The cat-like prowess of Andres Galarraga must have taken home the honors in 98.

  14. '70 or '72 Billy WIlliams?
  15. If the Mets have soured on Smith; feel he might need another year of seasoning; or feel he might need a push from some competition, would anyone be interested in Mark Reynolds on a one year deal?
  16. He was upset about being left off the d'Arnaud nuptial invitation list.
  17. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Zack Wheeler and his babe Dominique blew off the Nimmo Nups and instead attended the d'Anaud gig. Here's a few Action snaps from that. https://www.instagram.com/p/BbaQStzgRCO/ Apparently Hovvey was there too. I'm not on the Instagram but Mrs. Solo confirms he was there.

  19. Logan Morrison? That's one I hadn't heard attached to the Mets before.
  20. I think Miller deserves a plaque, though I'd prefer to see him up against other execs/groundbreakers rather than players. But of this list he's my only absolute YES. I'll have to think about the others.
  21. Varitek? Thought he played some with Seattle first.
  22. Brad Radke? Unless he mopped up with someone late in his career.
  23. I was typing Garret Anderson but now I think he may have finished off with a year in the NL (Cubs?). Anyhow, I'll still go with Anderson.
  24. Mariano Rivera
  25. Todd Helton is one. I'll guess the 5/23/95, even though I think his full rookie season was '97?
