  1. Anna Benson does nothing for me. There I said it.
  2. One of our primary division competitors just signed Tom Gordon to be their closer. That should be cause for celebration in these quarters.
  3. 7 for 10. I should have listened to my old man about the correct answer to #5. He always raved about how good he was when he came up.
  4. Belle was a little too over-agressive in the home security department around Halloween time for my tastes. For those arguing Blyleven, why him and not Tommy John?
  5. I'd give yays to Goose, Rice, Sutter and Trammell.
  6. 82 words, JD? I dare you to diagram that baby. I think the Mets are just trying to cut any potential distraction at the pass. And Delgado handled the questions quite well yesterday.
  7. Good. Ed Coleman was just on the FAN saying the deal is agreed upon in principle, expects Wagner in NYC tomorrow to finalize. Now let's shore up the rest of the pen.
  8. Mookie Wilson Rusty Staub Wally Backman
  9. Without going to too much trouble, can someone give me Minoso's Hall qualifications in a nutshell? Other than his "guest pinch hits to play in however many decades" I never really thought much about him. and this is the first time I'm ever hearing his name and Hall of Fame in the same sentence.
  10. Can I buy the scuff mark from the wall where Straw hit that HR off Ken Dayley?
  11. Cooby -- Thank you! I really mean it.Well, while I'm here, I just finished State of Fear by Michael Crichton. It's not his best book, but I think it's better than Prey, which was his most recent book. He also injected quite a bit of science fact into his fiction, even more than usual. Some of his revelations about the environment were quite eye-opening.
  12. I thought Trax was a 10 and 5 guy. Would he really approve a deal that sends him to either Texas or Tampa Bay?
  13. I thought he checked his facts better. A HR to win the pennant in 2003 by "Bret" Boone would really be unlikely. And it was Game 3 of the 99 postseason, not game two. But hey, I'm all for beating Clemens down.
  14. Red Schoendienst Blue Moon Odom Yellow = 70s Oakland As socks Dallas Green Orange = lettering on Mets hat Purple = Angry Don Zimmer head Three Finger Brown Bill White Black Sox Jim Gray interviewing Pete Rose ? 15. Dave Magadan
  16. Was he a coach for the Metsies?
  17. Double post
  18. 28 - Larry Bowa 1985?
  19. #34 looks like it has something to do with the band the Go Gos. "We Got the Beat", "Vacation." Now I have a vague recollection of Belinda Carlysle having a relationship with a baseball player, but can't figure out who. Any ideas?
  20. Tim McCarver and Whitey Herzog
  21. Did he pitch somewhere before coming to the Mets?
  22. Okay, this guy is obviously desperately trying to draw attention to himself, and I hate do add to it, or even make it seem like I agree with anything he said. But I do have a question: why aren't the umps subjected to the same "entertainment" tax as players?
  23. I don't know if everybody has given up on this, but I've got another (I think): 43. El Sid, 1993.
  24. Good job on #8 Greg...a lot of those clues could have pointed to Koosman. Including the hint about not wearing a glove in his biggest moments, which I thought referred to Orosco tossing his glove after the NLCS and WS. It's Mickey Lolich (1976), who I had forgotten was traded for Rusty Staub.
  25. Okay, then I'll start with two: 8. Jerry Koosman, 1978 12. Ty Wigginton, 2004
