  1. I think I like Davis now.

Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: When CF first opened I felt like they actually built it for Jose Reyes, who in the old days would drive balls right to the areas of the park that were largest This is exactly what I have always thought as well Although it doesn't make much sense to design a ballpark to suit just one player, whose greatest asset is his speed, making right field huge when you've got another young guy whose greatest asset is his right field gap power, but then again all my friends and neighbors have heard me rant about this many times
  3. Changing the culture, one nail-biter at a time
  4. Might have to flip a table if he's in the lineup tomorrow Or if he's still in there in the 7th
  5. Nice to see Interboro and LIC Beer Project on the list.
  6. Apparently we signed Luis Avilan to a minor league deal today.
  7. It's as simple as heading over to youtube.tv and signing up for an account (for 40 bucks a month). You then get live local channels as well as several sports channels, etc. I watch on my PC but there are apps for smart TV's and Roku devices and such. Now I didn't think of this when I gave my simplistic answer before, but the channels you get are based on your geographic location. So if you can't get SNY normally, it might not be available on youtube TV. For example, I couldn't watch SNY last summer when I was in Utica for a night. I guess it's worth looking into, to see what's available in your area. I just read on wikipedia that SNY offers live streams of Mets games through their website as well as the NBC Sports app, not sure what the cost would be for those options.
  8. I get it on Youtube TV.
  9. New year, new board, new avatar
  10. Maybe the NL will adopt the DH in a few years.
  11. The feeling is fading somewhat, but I felt sick about this deal last night. Part of it is I really have a good feeling about Kelenic, and he's one kid I was really excited to watch develop through the system. I don't even think it will take that long. That, and I can't believe I'm going to be sitting here rooting for Cano.
  12. https://www.sbnation.com/2018/11/14/18093456/jacob-degrom-cy-young-award-nl-mets I hereby demand the "badass start" be made an official stat.

  14. I would have settled for Hernandez calling strike 3 on a pitch that missed the plate by 3 inches This is acceptable too
  15. Yep! I did find a headline from the next day's sports section though. Box score is probably somewhere in there but I don't know if I want to pay $50 to see it. https://newspaperarchive.com/syracuse-herald-journal-jun-08-1987-p-25/
  16. Just found a ticket stub from a game I attended on 6/7/87. Would be great to find a box score. My reserved seat cost $3.75.
  17. The new ballpark was built right next to the old one. 20+ years ago, yikes! Almost time for a new one! https://ballparks.smugmug.com/MacArthur-Stadium-demolished-Syracuse-New-York/
  18. Centerfield wrote: MacArthur Stadium (Is it still called that?) Well if you ask me, it is. I used to go to games sometimes in the mid to late 80s when they were a Blue Jays affiliate. I remember guys like Glenallen Hill, Rob Ducey, Mike Sharperson, and I think I might have seen Luis Sojo too. Apparently David Wells and Todd Stottlemyre were around then too, but I really don't remember any of the pitchers at all. Definitely planning to make it to a game at some point next year when I visit the folks.
  19. "Julian Tavarez was the first player to debut who was younger than you." "Raul Ibanez was the last player older than you to play in the majors."
  20. Damn, I turned it off when it got to 7-0. I had no idea until now.
  21. See, Reyes can still be useful.
  22. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Matz came out and started sucking cock, and then sucked some more cock and then sucked cock. Apparently it's contagious.
  23. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Droobie turned out to be a terrific signing Yeah. At the time I wasn't gaga over bringing him in, but he was definitely a Professional Hitter the whole time he was here.
  24. At this point, I'm not sure how he's getting any sleep at night.
