Captain Kirk launches his first photon torpedo leading off the game today for Bingmanton. Reports I've read said he has pretty good power. If he's leading off, that Bingy team must be loaded. Later

Wifey and I both liked it. She thought it was the best movie she saw all year. The (Oscar nominated) production design was excellent. It made us feel like were were in the London of that era. The script was witty as well as well written, and the two leads (as well as the final disclosure) set us up for (a) sequel(s) I wouldn't want to miss. I would have liked to have been able to have voted it a top score of "7" as in percent solution. Later

Its not like I'm scooping up all the top prospects. Just players I thought it would be interesting to follow. (The last two because of their names) Many of them aren't on anyone's top 25 lists. And some that are, I adopted them before they were on any lists. (IIRC, I adopted one or two before they ever played a professional inning) Later

No. But several of my older adoptees have either left the organization or made it to the majors, so I had to kick them out of the house. Don't worry. Brad and Angelina's number is still safe. Later

Edioglis Villasmil - 17-year-old right-hander. He pitched mostly in the VSL last year. 4.27 ERA in 59 IP. Made four appearances in the DSL. Why am I adopting him? Because every family needs someone named Edioglis. Welcome to the family, kid. Later

To date, an arm injury was a significant factor in Rustich's moving forward or lack of movement. From what I've read on "Inside Pitch" (subscription site), his arm is improving. Positive signs are coming out of his early test results. Rustich is not currently on track for spring training and the organization is going to be very cautious with . He's NOT going to be ready to throw off a mound when camp starts. He hasn't started a throwing program yet, but will start soon. When he does return to game action and joins a team, expect it to be St. Lucie but it won't be because they feel he can't handle a higher level. Rustich is still a very valuable guy for the Org., but they want to keep him close to the complex, pitch in warm weather, and make sure everything is right before they get aggressive with him. I could see those positions you mentioned being manned by: C - Thole 1B - Davis 2B - Tejada/ Reese Havens RF - Capt. Kirk* or Fernando Martinez by as early as 2011. In the baseball forum, there is a thread about how the winning Yankee teams were based on a home grown "core". This is the first time in a long time that I feel optimistic about the Mets being in a position to do the same thing. Thanks. I read a report on him a while ago that said if the Mets were to get another first baseman, Ike had the arm to play right field. Didn't realize it was that good. Later

There are 6 AFL teams -- each of which has 30 players. So, each MLB team gets about 6 players each. As I understand the rules, players must be on the AA roster on June 30th. Each team has an exception. Forget where I read it but, that due to the collapse of Hawaii Winter League, teams might have 2 exemptions. I haven't seen that formally confirmed. Maybe the fact that the Mets will have eight is confirmation of a sorts. So, if they've already used two of them to get up to eight players, then Nieuwenhuis would need an exemption that the Mets don't have. Later
