Marty Noble likes the idea of Cameron. And so do the Mets.
MFS62 replied to Benjamin Grimm's topic in New York Mets Talk
The only reason to sign a 37 year old outfielder is for a 1 year deal with the intent of holding a spot for a future starter in the minors. So signing Cameron to a 1 year deal only makes sense if you are CONVINCED that FMart, or even Ike Davis, will be ready in 2011. Only the Met brass can assess the probability of that happening! That said, the Mets need another (righty) hitter with power somewhere in the lineup. Later -

This is going to give the term "take two and hit to left" a whole new meaning. Later

World Series rooting interest poll: Yankees-Phillies

I'm hoping that I'll wake up and find out that this season was all a bad dream. Later -
The home plate ump hasn't given that side of the plate to the Angels' pitcher all night. Why throw that pitch to A-Rod there? Of course, it was a strike. Called ball four. Later

I'm not sure. I think there are currently 5 open spots. But the guys on the 60 day DL have to be added back to the 40 man roster before the rule V draft. And I don't know how many of them are eligible for, or will be offered, arbitration. Edgy is our official keeper of such things. Let's wait for his update. Later

Gettin' near the time to either pull this thread out of mothballs or start a new one. Sooooo From Metsblog: The Mets outrighted C Robinson Cancel, SS Wilson Valdez, SS Argenis Reyes and RHP Carlos Muniz to Triple-A yesterday, meaning they have been removed from the 40-man. Who will replace them? Let the fun begin! Later

Interesting. They let him start one game during that time. But with that good record in relief, he had no saves? Later

Affair is foul for ESPN star Ex-Met GM's dumped mistress has a 'Fatal Attraction' freakout By JEANE MacINTOSH in Wilton, Conn., and DAN MANGAN in NY Last Updated: 5:26 AM, October 21, 2009 She's not going to be ignored, Steve! ESPN analyst Steve Phillips had a fling with a 22-year-old production assistant, who, after being dumped, taunted his wife with "Fatal Attraction"-like phone calls and a letter that bragged about her sexcapades with Phillips while taking pot shots at their "loveless marriage," The Post has learned. The former Met general manager, whose tenure with the team was rocked by admissions of infidelity, confessed to his wife and local cops that he had slept with ESPN assistant Brooke Hundley several times this past summer before dumping her. http://www.nypost.com/p/news/national/affair_is_fo ul_for_espn_star_bLw9UoSAQJwJLU4ZDXvvDO Later

The Mets were big on bloodlines way back when. I still remember when they drafted Lee May, Jr. and Todd Hundley. Later
