  1. Hey, here's a way to help two teams with needs. Howz about the Mets help San Diego fill that vacancy at GM by sending them Omar. In return, they could send the Mets their first baseman. And the Mets would pick up any remaining years on Towers' contract, too. Seems fair to me. Later
  2. I'd take either of them over Angel Hernandez. Later
  3. He could use them for insulation around his pool. Later
  4. After the way this season went, they should provide sexual favors on Fan Appreciation Day. Later
  5. Are they going to send them Castillo's glove too? Later
  6. Taking all the different reports and rumors into consideration, I'm sayin' he's still "day-to-day". Later
  7. Edgy DC wrote: Interesting to see Duda over Neiuwenheis. Also interesting to see eight prospects instead of the usual six. I wonder if some teams pulled out. There are 6 AFL teams -- each of which has 30 players. So, each MLB team gets about 6 players each. As I understand the rules, players must be on the AA roster on June 30th. Each team has an exception. Forget where I read it but, that due to the collapse of Hawaii Winter League, teams might have 2 exemptions. I haven't seen that formally confirmed. Maybe the fact that the Mets will have eight is confirmation of a sorts. So, if they've already used two of them to get up to eight players, then Nieuwenhuis would need an exemption that the Mets don't have. Later
  8. One more thing to add to the list of things I'll do when I own the Mets: Make sure anything sent to a member of the Yankee organization, or to their stadium, or to their beat reporters, should first be rubbed with poison ivy. Later
  9. If he'd tried to throw something at her, he never could have hit her. Later
  10. Figgy should sue the Mets for non-support. Later
  11. Instead of laughing at their classmate, the kids should agree that they all wear MFY gear to that teacher's class* on the same day. Later * = I know, the terms "MFY gear" and "Class" don't belong in the same sentence, even using this meaning of "class".
  12. The first thing I would have done as a parent would have been to request that my child be transferred to another class. After all, who knows how fairly a teacher that petty would grade my child's work? Later
  13. I'd rather he stay and the rest of the team retire. Later
  14. (Chanelling Michael Corleone), "Someone had to answer for Francisco Pena, Paulie". Now we know who that was. Later
  15. Royce Ring was the losing pitcher in tonight's AAA Championship game for Memphis against the Durham Bulls. He gave up an extra inning double, then was replaced by a guy who threw two wild pitches to get the winning run home. I heard the last two innings during my drive home tonight on that 1520AM station that carries the Buffalo AAA games. I wonder if Susan Sarandon was at the game. Later
  16. On last night's radio post-game show, it was mentioned that Murphy has more extra base hits this September than any other National League hitter. I can live with that at the possible expense of OBP. And there's no guarantee that he can't go back to the patient approach he exhibited last year. Later
  17. Chipper's going to name his next child "Citi". Later
