  1. Zvon, what happened to your "Hit him in the knee and pick him off first" sign for Freeman? Did you ever make it? Later
  2. Rivera, Evans and (I believe) Nido won the batting titles in their leagues. Later
  3. If there had been no Tim Tebow, ESPN would have created him. Later

  5. Not only do I remember Wayne Terwilliger, but I remember that his nickname was "Twig". Later
  6. And Jay Bruce still sucks. He sucks so badly they won because he wasn't in the lineup. OE: After rereading that, I realized it makes no sense whatsoever. But Jay Bruce still sucks. Later

What would follow is too terrible to describe. Later
  8. There were reports on SNY that Duda would be added to the active list today. Check the transaction wire. Later

  13. Ashie62 wrote: As long as your intent is to prove you are the smartest guy in the forum you, or anyone, will do well here. Think how tough it is for me. Everywhere I go, I'm not only the smartest person in the room but the best looking, too. Now shut up and be satisfied with second place. OE: He has had other names here? Really? Later
  14. I liked the rookie reports issue every year. Once rookie info was available elsewhere (The Bill Mazeroski annual magazine, Baseball America, Sporting News Baseball Guide and Rookie Reports, etc.) I stopped buying it. I hadn't realized it was still being published until I noticed it at my local Barnes and Noble a few weeks ago. Probably missed it all these years because they changed their format from pocket-sized to Street and Smiths size. I looked through it. Still won't buy it. Later

  16. Got home after the game to find that MMYF had replaced my plain old Mets blue mouse pad with one that pictures lots of bats and baseballs. (Non team specific) Its a good thing they won, or I would have blamed her for the loss. Now, that new mouse pad is staying right here. Later

    Ouch!

A Valdespinesque moment. And that is why you should do a cup check before you leave the clubhouse. Later
  19. I root for every player on the Mets to do well. But he's making me expend a lot of rooting energy on him. Later
  20. Thanks for the reminder. I'll start calling him "Rocky". Later

I think Lugo has more meat to him. 3rd- starter- y meat, but still. This. Lugo shows he knows how to get the best out of what he has going that day. He doesn't rely on raw stuff. Seth is my keeper. 22. My kid caught Steve Blass Disease after being known for his excellent control when he was coming up through the minors. I had hoped that he might learn something from Bartolo. Didn't happen. Shame. Later
  23. Zvon wrote: Of course twitter is ripping him a new one. Any comments about Teuffel for sending him? Its the job of the coach to know the limitations of the runner, know the arm of the fielder, and make a decision on go/no go. Later
