  1. Does Cohen have any eligible daughters to offer him? Later
  2. I guess I intuitively knew it, but had never put it together: Baltimore's current baseball and football teams each used to be named the Browns. Later
  3. He has gone from CF to LF to (mostly) DH very quickly, so it sounds like he is a full time DH waiting to happen. His righty-ness can't be ignored, but if the DH in the NL decision is delayed by a year, he would be an expensive positionless redundancy. But, if the Mets don't sign Springer (gasp) he would be a nice short term LF backup plan, freeing up others to be part of a trade. Later
  4. His age makes him a decent option. My only concern is his routine of pitching on a very strict schedule (IIRC it was every Sunday). I'm not sure if that would be disruptive where he is not the #1 starter and how often that would bump others from their normal pitching turns. Later
  5. =kcmets post_id=50763 time=1605560719 user_id=53] I'm laughing a little about the short-lived Sergio Ferrer Forum.
  6. There is a brand of deodorant very popular outside the US called Odorono. If the Mets signed Jake that's what I would be calling him until ... forever. Later
  7. My votes would be for guys who I feel deserve more consideration than they have received: Todd Helton Jeff Kent Manny Ramirez Omar Vizquel Billy Wagner Sammy Sosa Later
  8. I voted Secret Weapon because Nido really earned that cover. Later
  9. Mommy! Mommy! Mommy! I want one: https://www.amazinavenue.com/shirts/2020/11/12/21562197/steve-cohen-banner-shirt-available-at-breakingt-mets-t-shirt-world-series-ownershiphttps://www.amazinavenue.com/shirts/2020/11/12/21562197/steve-cohen-banner-shirt-available-at-breakingt-mets-t-shirt-world-series-ownership Can I have one, PLEEEEEZE? Later
  10. I hope they bring back banner day. Later
  11. =whippoorwill post_id=50631 time=1605307066 user_id=79] I always thought he was cute.
  12. It would be like hiring the guy who stole your high school sweetheart. He might be able to do the job. But still ... Later
  13. That replacement player everyone is always being compared is someone I'd take instead of him. Later
  14. Sure, right after I start selling Ivanka label dresses in my clothing store. Later
  15. Foster Castleman, heretofore one of the last surviving New York Giants, 89. https://www.villages-news.com/2020/11/12/foster-ephriam-castleman-jr/https://www.villages-news.com/2020/11/12/foster-ephriam-castleman-jr/ During an era when so many (New York) players had nicknames, Duke, Yogi, Scooter, Skoonj, etc. , I remember that Foster Castleman was always just Foster Castleman. RIP Later
  16. Freddy F'n Freeman must do well against other teams, not just the Mets. We just despise him more. Later
  17. Lefty Specialist wrote: Où est la poubelle? Pot belly? We already had Bartolo Colon. Later
  18. I read a few weeks ago that the NL will not have the DH in 2021. Then, it may be back when the new MLBPA is negotiated. So, if true, this must be factored into the plans. And, not knowing who the Mets will sign as free agents, with Mauricio and some of the recent signings on the horizon, I'll guess Cano and Rosario are the primary bait. Later
  19. Edgy MD wrote: If there's any insider information about him that might add some insight, maybe the Cardinals can let us know. A spectacular 94 points on the snark-o-meter! Well played! LOL! Later
  20. The poster says "Best Foreign Language Film". The official languages of Switzerland are German, French, Italian and Romansh. Which languages are spoken in the film? Later
  21. From Associated Press: Four players declined qualifying offers at the 5 p.m. EST deadline: right-hander Trevor Bauer from Cincinnati, outfielder George Springer from Houston, second baseman DJ LeMahieu from the New York Yankees and catcher J.T. Realmuto from Philadelphia. Later
  22. Edgy MD wrote: I guess I think Stroman should be treated as the runner on second who is still Brodie's responsibility, even after he's been pulled from the game. He should be treated as starting on second in extra innings. Later
  23. Ashie62 said what Cohen said yesterday(in a way): The MFY's play in the American League. We do not compete directly with them. Fun stuff in there. Later
  24. Maybe one would be an extended spring training type facility used for player development but not playing games in any league - like the extended roster camps this year. Later
  25. =G-Fafif post_id=50301 time=1604964154 user_id=55] Andrés Giménez wins a third-place NL ROY vote. Somebody else won the award.
