  1. Will the ceremony be delayed because of travel restrictions? I'd like to book my tickets. Later
  2. Munificent! Later
  3. Houston scored 4 in the top of the 7th and now leads 7-5. Later

If Jake Marisnik, for example, gets a start his points would count as 'bench' points. Then you wouldn't know to the end of the year (or month) if he had started more than half his games. A bench player might be a regular later in the year due to injuries. And what if he plays the exact same number of games as a starter and in a bench role (or DH)? 'Tis a puzzlment. Later
  5. GREAT JOB! Or, as they would say in Stockholm, "bra jobbat". Later
  6. =bmfc1 post_id=48016 time=1601920298 user_id=73] C.B. Bucknor and Angel Hernandez continue to find work:

  8. Who amI rooting for? Rays v. MFY: Rays. Cheaters v. A's.: Houston - they never beat us for a World Series. SD v LA: SD Mia v ATL: A meteor, and a BIG one. Later

  11. Another Hall of Famer passes. Bob Gibson — MVP, Cy Young, personification of stubborn competitor and, of course, Mets assistant pitching coach in 1981 — is gone at 84. Very sad. I would change "stubborn" to "fierce". The look in his eyes when he pitched said it all. Later
  12. Jeter's fu**ing fish advance 2-0. Later
  13. 2-0 Fish in the top of the 8th. Later
  14. Second game of Cubs/ Marlins series rained out. Later
  15. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I just looked it up... the winter meetings start on December 6. I had read that the vote was scheduled for the winter meetings in November, but one part of that is obviously wrong. If the meetings are in December and the vote is in November, that's a very different story. The vote should definitely be held before the winter meetings. I think you're right about what you had read. Maybe they were thinking of holding the vote around the time of the General Managers meeting, usually held about a month before the "winter meetings". This year, they'll be holding that remotely. Will the vote be the same? I have no info on that. Later
  16. Maybe Manfried needed to promise Tony Clark that Cohens checkbook is arriving sooner. That's what I meant, but Ben doesn't think the timing will be that important to free agent spending. But I adhere to the saying "Get there firstest with the mostest". Later
  17. Still 0-0 , bottom of the 12th. Both starters (Bauer and Fried) went 7 , and neither issued a BB. Later
  18. Benjamin Grimm wrote: It was originally expected that the vote on Cohen's purchase of the Mets would be voted on at the November winter meetings, but Manfred has hinted that he'd like to get it done in October. Hopefully that will happen; the Mets should be able to be represented by their new administration at the winter meetings. Follow the money. Some agents might have pointed out to Manfred that a late approval would give the Mets a late start in free agent signing season. And that would leave a lot of Cohen money out of the chase. Later
  19. =LWFS post_id=47649 time=1601388755 user_id=84] I can't see the Indians giving up the number of home runs in bunches that it'll take to keep the MFYs in their series.

  21. =bmfc1 post_id=47584 time=1601256512 user_id=73] Are there any rooting interests in these games? The Brewers have cool unis and aren't the Dodgers; the Reds aren't the Braves; the Cubs aren't the Marlins but the Marlins aren't the Cubs so that's a tough one; the Padres aren't the Cardinals. So: MIL, CIN, ugh, SD.
  22. Anybody but the MFYs, with the AL winner losing in the WS. Later
  23. I've seen 3 or 4 different "Top 25 Rookies" lists over the past few days and none of them listed David Peterson. Infamia! One mentioned Giminez. Later
  24. =bmfc1 post_id=47573 time=1601245289 user_id=73] At the Phillies missed the playoffs with a '07/'08-worthy collapse.
  25. =kcmets post_id=47550 time=1601224223 user_id=53] Howie!?! Gobbledygook? Is that like horse hockey, pigeon pellets and/or beaver biscuits? (asking for a friend)
