  1. I had hoped the Mets would keep Al Jackson on the 1969 post-season roster. He pitched for them briefly that year. After being on that 1962 team, he deserved it. (like a purple heart) Later
  2. Yeah, but which coaches have been there for multiple post seasons? (I have no idea) Later
  3. I knew those voting machines with made-in-China chips switched the ballots. Later
  4. Javier Assad 0-1 2.93 VS Chris Bassitt 13-7 3.24 Game time 7:10PM Keep on hitting. Later
  5. Angel's call in he first was so bad, Max Scherzer got thrown out of the game - while he was in the dugout. The Mets broadcasters said "Angel Hernandez - now we understand" and "If you had Angel Hernandez and under 90 seconds(meaning how quickly it would take him to mess up), you won". Later
  6. Edgy MD wrote: They may not be the strength of the batting order, You are a true master of the understatement. LOL! Later
  7. Edgy MD wrote: How does Angel Hernandez screw up everything? Because he was born incompetent and has gone downhill from there. Later
  8. Keep the offense going. Game time 1:40 PM Later
  9. =G-Fafif post_id=106841 time=1662838832 user_id=55] Mark Vientos reportedly en route.
  10. Joel Sherman's column (linked in the rules thread) names Megil as a pitcher who could be adversely affected by the new rules about the pitch clock, since he is a deliberate worker. Later
  11. Carlos Carrasco 13-6 3.91 VS Pablo Lopez 8-9 3.66 Time to snap out of the hitting doldrums. Game time 6:10 PM Later
  12. Cal started the first game of tonight's doubleheader. His line:2.2IP, 4H, 2R, 2ER, 4BB, 2K. He's thrown 60 pitches, with 28 strikes. The game is in a rain delay with his team losing 2-0. OE: the game resumed. He got the loss (final score 4-0) It dropped his record to 0-6. Later
  13. Lefty Specialist wrote: Joely Rodriguez, in a word, sucks. Not getting one or two competent lefty relievers is one of the big failures this year. He isn't just a waste of a roster spot. He's a waste of DNA. Later
  14. Mets down 2-0 after 2. Rain delay for St. Lucie. Why can't that rain come to Miami? Later
  15. It's going to make all sorts of weird "technical foul" type errors, and runners with 60 foot leads, etc. Just noticed this. You're right. Does the new rule mean that after two pickoff attempts, the runner can walk almost to second base and the pitcher can't do anything about it? That rule needs a lot of refinement or clarification. Otherwise, I envision a lot of runners scoring from first on a single. Later
  16. =Fman99 post_id=106743 time=1662750995 user_id=86] I think, honestly, after about 10 or 11 inches, you're, ahem, leaving some of it out on the field, if you get my meaning. (#penises)
  17. Making the bag bigger will do exactly diddly squat toward improving the game. What's next, allowing players to use those oversized clown-hand sized gloves in the field? What was the reason they gave for THAT change? Did some precious millionaire get spiked? Making it easier for a runner to touch the base? Learn how to slide, dammit! Later
  18. Just got my ballot to vote for the Roberto Clemente award winner (from mlb.com). One player from each team was nominated. The Mets player is Jim McCann. I'll vote or him for the award if that also means I can vote him off the island. Later
  19. Arriba! Later
  20. (Another game 1 thread reference) I just saw the clip of that other Mets fan since 1962 on SNY. We definitely do NOT look alike. But thanks for thinking of me. Later
  21. Squirrel collecting some nuts tonight. Later
  22. I wonder how well that upcoming free agent would do in a major league ballpark. Like Citi field. OE: Darn! 3-3 now. Later
  23. Minnesota has a 2-0 lead on the MFYs in the 3rd inning. This is significant only because the Twins haven't led them at any point in a game since 1987. Later
  24. GAAAAAAA! The dreaded "S" word. Later
  25. =kcmets post_id=106593 time=1662576879 user_id=53] Bob from PA, today's PNC MFS62 knockoff , was not nearly as handsome and distinguished looking as our CPF MFS62.
