  1. As per SNY, the Mets have re-signed Yohan Ramirez and DFA Max Kranick. Later
  2. I've been working on my word of the day. Yesterday's was "bleak," but today I'm leaning toward "dreary." Oh good. Things are looking up. Later
  3. Tony Gwynn through 569 career games: .326/.378/.427 with 25 HR Luis Arraez through 569 career games: .324/.377/.423 with 24 HR Luis is off to a good start. Later
  4. I wonder how well a young Mays hit against Satchel Paige. Later

  6. My kid picked up his second save today for Binghamton. His record so far is 7 G 8 IP 10K 2.25 ERA Later
  7. I looked at their roster to see if there was anyone else who the Mets might want to investigate. You take away Arraez (.299) and their team BA drops below the current .223. Man, what a copious quantity of ca ca. And we can't even blame Derek Jeter any more. Maybe lefty reliever Tanner Scott? I dunno. Later
  8. Frayed Knot wrote: Weird stat for Christian Scott this year in Syracuse: 5 games, 25.1 IP, 12 Hits allowed, 7 HRs!! He's young and proud of his control. Kids think you have to throw every pitch for a strike. And the batters can see that. He'll learn. Later
  9. Edgy MD wrote: Rays uni numbers are pretty much invisible. Even when they were in the playoffs they were mostly incognito. Maybe they're trying to stay that way. Later
  10. Another poor outing: 4.1IP 5H 5R 5ER 1BB 5K 2HR 10.80 ERA I don't think we'll be seeing him this year unless he has a dramatic turnaround. Later
  11. The only thing keeping my vote from a five is that I had seen all the bally-hoo before I went to see it and was somehow disappointed it wasn't better than it was. If I see it again, I may change my rating. But I do remember thinking that Haing S. Ngor deserved his supporting actor Oscar. Later
  12. Has it been announced whether he will be replacing someone in the rotation, or will he just slide into an available slot the rotation? OE: answered. Mendoza said he will be going with a six man rotation. Later
  13. Well, there goes the suspense of a no-hitter by Butto. Later
  14. They must have detected something in his swing that needs immediate hands-on instruction and not just playing some games against kids. The MLBPA must be looking carefully at that move of a ten year vet. Later
  15. Not a bad person. Horrible hitter. I'm glad he found a home - far away from us. Later
  16. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Dollar hot dog night They sold 44,269 hot dogs, which they announced as an all-time record. Thanks for your contribution, Tuesday Night Mets Club. Later

  18. Did you get carded? I was carded at the Atlanta ballpark, and I was in my 60's. Sounds like you're having fun. Later
  19. Edgy MD wrote: Sean Manaea using "Just the Two of Us" for entrance music? Whatever works, man. Maybe he's schizophrenic. Later
  20. =metirish post_id=153826 time=1714505484 user_id=72] Optioned back to AAA
  21. Javier Assad 2-0 2.00 Sean Manaea 1-1 3.33 Game time 7:10 Later
  22. A week ago I would have said we will see him several times this year because he could "open" as well as fill a multiple inning relief role. But since then, we've seen reports that Megill and Peterson are starting rehab, so pitchers experienced in the starting role will be available soon. And that lowers my expectations for Tyler. 1-2 3.88 in 14 games, 16 IP Later
  23. Edgy MD wrote: I thought there was a guy with a western first name and a Japanese surname — Michael Hashimoto, or something. Were you thinking of Ken Takahashi? (It isn't short for Kenji, according to baseball reference) Later
  24. Edgy MD wrote: Something is going to have to give, but it's unlikely to simply be Vientos for Wendle. The team had already been shorthanded, playing with a single backup infielder before Vientos arrived. If they're going to go back to only five infielders, it's unlikely that the fifth will be a guy who hasn't played shortstop since he was 17, and hasn't played second at all. It could happen, but it would sure make their versatility problem worse. Well, as you've noted, if they let the starters go more than their current limits, they wouldn't need as many relief pitchers. And a lower number of relievers would allow them to keep both Vientos and Wendle around. Later
