2. The Lagares bunt, the Avilan wild pitch, the Stroman 7th inning leadoff walk. Any or all of those mistakes cost the FHaMs a game. The SHaMs are like, fuck it Also the 2nd and 3rd failure in the 4th or 5th.
3. Nah, http://www.faithandfearinflushing.com/2019/08/10/impossible-to-not-believe/this didn't really happen. lol
4. When HCITC first came out, I liked it enough but it bothered me A LOT to discover the singer was a guy. I thought "Nick" in Nick Gilder could be like Nicolette Larsen, and it caused me all kinds of cognitive dissonance... I didn't know how to process the ambiguity and between that and the lyrics lecherousness, it resulted in me deciding that I hated the song. Now that I'm a grown up and evolved, I can admit all that and every time I hear that song now I turn it way up and rock out. What a terrific song. Worth the extra 30 seconds in your life is the extended LP version you never hear on the radio: the ending you hear above is a false ending, and you get an extra little solo and different wind down that makes it like a million times better. Thank you, Nick Gilder, for forcing me to confront my anxiety over androgyny in song. Scroll up to the 3 minute mark
5. All of our enemies won their games last night. To think of how close we came to a bad bad night. I hat baseball night. Geez
6. That inning had the biggest hit of Rosario's, Panik's, Frazier's and maybe Conforto's Met careers
7. That little single mighta won it if Laggy does the job. C'mon Scoooty
8. Yeah I wouldn't argue guy on 2nd, 1 out there. But popped up twice in that situation. That's bad stuff
9. That leadoff walk in the 7th was a big moment. Had him at 0-2 as well. My impression after 2 starts is that Stroman is a good pitcher, who occasionally overdoes it. Top of the order here, let's get it done.
10. It's one thing to be a skeptical consumer of information and another to be willfully and pridefully ignorant of what publications and journalists actually do. Anyway, I like the idea of this move. Even if Panik, who used to kick ass, doesn;t have it anymore I'd bet on a dead-cat bounce. If he doesn't stick you can always go back to Guillorme/Hererra/Tejada/Espinosa
11. Just about all MILB clubs use the same branding and marketing agency to create their names and merchandise, and all of them who use them are after a similar demographic valuing "local" and "family-friendly" brands. So cartoons, "funny names" merchandise they can market to adults and kids alike. It doesn't matter to the clubs themselves that every other MiLB team has a silly name and the exact same marketing approach since they aren't really in competition with them, but rather with other local non-baseball entertainment -- movies, the local Nascar track, x-Box, Netflix etc etc
