I swear with your beard you kinda resemble that pic of Youngblood in the avatar. thats scary. hey-CPF'rs- you can have your own pic in an avatar if you want, when you reach the level of Seaverness. Course, i should probly clear that with Edge and KC 1st,lol. we may need alternate Seavers too, cuz sometimes I just go by the avatar to see whos posting and theres afew Seavers now. As it is, Im easily confused, as u all know. Considering I got so sick of seeing my own grinning mug pointing to the 1986 Trophy that I didn't think it was worth putting back up when gremlins took it away, I think I'll pass. =

  3. Albert with no one on. I like that as well!

No From the 'Context Please' file: You'd think that the announcers who keep pointing out that most of Beltran's post-season HRs have come against the Cardinals might also point out that most of hsi post-season GAMES have come against the Cardinals. 11 of 19 to be specific. Heh, Mush-Mouth was saying that about an announcer saying Nick Swisher only had 8 HRs right handed this year, failing to realize that he only has a handfull of righty ABs this year.
  5. Zvon wrote: ="Valadius"]Indeed he does. He's now tied Babe Ruth for most homers against them in the postseason. with all the post season levels anymore--that stat is bogus. Uh Z, thats just against the Cardinals, Beltran probably does have a buschel of HRs but probably isn't close to Ruth yet on the All Time List.
  6. Edgy DC wrote: ="metsguyinmichigan"]If Pujols and Howard split the vote, Beltran could still be the MVP. I'd prefer he win the gonfalon. Non-sequitor, the Cubs have not won the big freaking World Gonfalon since that word was used in the poem that Edgy is quoting in his sig line. 98 years and counting... Golden Jubliee in 2008, I can NOT wait!
  7. Carlos Beltran just loves playing the Cards in an LCS!
  8. I think Edgardo Alfonzo has that monikor still on him from the Diamondback series though =
  9. Vamos Carlos, Vamos indeed.

Well yeah, but its also whats been built up with the guy over his time here with the Mets. I mean he's been effective in spots, and has been a decent 3rd starter, but he's built up enough negative equity that it might be time to get someonelse in here.

I wonder if Willie gives Wagner the 9th, give him a chance to get a confidence-boosting inning. There's a day off on Tuesday. I don't know, do you think Wagner is on the road to being Brad Lidge if he doesn't?
  12. Bradford versus Preston. Preston Wilson...we didn't get anyone that amounted to anything when we gave up on him did we? SC=31
  13. Thats RUTHLESSLY PRICKING THIS GAME BUBBLE!
  14. Come on, 10 outs and we have a game at Shea Wednesday night

  16. Yancy Street Gang wrote: He was pretty well hated by many in 2001, but I think we've grown to accept him, if not love him. But I don't expect that Trachsel will be back in 2007. How does a trivial thread like this one get started while an NLCS game is in progress? Sheesh! Kept my mind off of thinking about last night and I had a wonderment about where Wright and Reyes were on the list at this point.
  17. Okay, Walker struck out in the 7th on Aug 7th 2004, pinch hitting for Mike Matheny. It was at that point, after going down on strikes that he got an SO from the Busch faithfull which surprised the Met broadcasters, as well as hosts on WFAN after the game (Steve Sommers)
  18. Gwreck wrote: ="SteveJRogers"]They gave Larry Walker a hearty standing O first game as a Red Bird. Gary Cohen was shocked, not that Mets/Yanks with big reps don't get a warm reception first game, but it was above and beyond the norm Didn't we do that for Shawn Green? Hmmmm, not sure. I'd have to double check RetroSheet.org it may have been Walker made an out in his first ab and got an SO on his way back to the dugout.
  19. What makes you so sure he's coming back? Granted I doubt it will be because he'll be villived by fans (as if he wasn't hated enough all ready) but there is a sense that he is not in favor among the Met brass and could "easily" (as in, okay it will be a bit tough) be replaced

  21. Runs, are a fleeting thing and it makes Met fans sing Bound, by winning desire The Mets are scoring higher...
  22. What no love for Conway Twitty here?
