  2. Oh no. ESPN broadcasters are Berman and Morgan. Over/under for when I puncture my own eardrums: 5th inning.

  4. Not looking so good. 0-4 in the bottom of the 7th. Might get one more shot if the Phillies can get some baserunners.
  5. Ok, found it. Was from a comment on UMDB. Was actually awarded to Kane Davis in 2002. The comment: ]An announcement from the Fraternity Of Met Fans (F.O.M.F): We'd like to present Kane Davis with the annual, dishonorable Mel Rojas award for worst relief pitcher in a single season, 2002. Former receipients include: Mel Rojas for 1998, Kenny Rogers 1999, Rich Rodriguez for the 2000 campaign, and Donne Wall in 2001. And now Kane Davis 2002, 97 MPH up to the plate, double that when it's on its way out of the ballpark (just ask Larry Walker).
  6. ...for worst reliever? Does anybody else remember this? I know somebody had created it, I remember reading about it, I just can't remember where. Couldn't find it on this or the EZboard archives... IIRC, the winners were: 98 - Rojas 99 - Kenny Rogers 00 - Rich Rodriguez 01 - Donnie Wall 02 - Satoru Komiyama
  7. Delgado 3.5 Bannister 1.5 Sanchez 1 Heilman 1 Beltran 1 Nady 1 Reyes .5 Hernandez .5
  8. Jim Breuer threw out the first pitch on Wednesday. Apparently he's a "long-time" Mets fan.
  9. The 300' to right field I think is a typo. According to the "side by side comparison" chart (also on Mets.com) right field is 330'.
  10. Edgy DC wrote: What's to be done? I'd like it if Delgado and/or somebody unimpeachable like Wright said something like "No, I'm not coming out for any curtain calls until they stop booing my teammate." I like that idea, actually. ]Besides, Beltran's going deep as soon as Martinez takes the mound. Good point. I think Beltran will get it going soon. I just hope that nobody thinks the boos make him hit.
  11. Stupid, stupid fans. You don't boo after a battling, 10-pitch at bat. This needs to stop.
  12. IMO, Darren Oliver on the roster seems to indicate that even if a starter's needed, Aaron's in the pen. I wonder if Aaron going back out tonight (after 2 innings Mon.) in this spot is a Willie/Peterson thing to build confidence/favorable opinion/etc. for Heilman in his bullpen role. I was thinking we'd have seen Julio in this inning. Edit: spelling/grammar.
  13. For those with TV: what's up with the umpires / talking to the dugouts?
  14. Soriano pops out. He needs one more to finish what is still a pretty good ML debut.
  15. LoDuca erases the leadoff walk, catching Watson stealing.
  16. Patterson's on pace for 27 Ks on 221 pitches. Oh, and he loses 9-0, too.
  17. Doubled in the first at-bat today 4/6/06 to extend it to 38.
  18. metirish wrote: Apparently he drilled Soriano, we didn't see it though.....to much talking going on. According to the radio broadcast, turned his head and it clipped him in the earflap.
  19. Eddie C. predicting bunt...but Beltran strikes out. The boo-birds really need to STFU.
  20. ScarletKnight41 wrote: Great at-bat for Reyes - a single in a 10-pitch at-bat. No kidding. Great showing by Reyes. Nice to see this early in the season. First steal too.
  21. Edgy DC wrote: Starting pitchers at Shea have a long tradition of getting a designated record played. Indeed. Glavine has been using "Sweet Child O'Mine" since he's been a Met. Victor Zambrano used "Vertigo" last year. While I'd like to forget most of what David Cone did for the Mets in '03, I always thought his choice of "Need You Tonight" was inspired.
  22. Glavine 4.5 Nady 3.5 Wright 1 LoDuca .75 Floyd .25
