  1. I think Reyes may wind up staying in the game on some sort of double switch.
  2. I hope Beltran is well enough to play in the field. REALLY need a pinch hitter here. Edit: Chavez making me eat my words.
  3. Nice spot for Floyd to start breaking out of the slump right here.
  4. Wright's gotta get at least a run home with a runner at 3rd and 1 out. Striking out = not acceptable.

  6. You could see that one coming a long way off. Dammit Victor.
  7. Bases loaded for Giles = not good times. Bad times.
  8. God, Endy, take a freaking pitch.
  9. Zvon wrote: OW- i just saw that replay of Wright getting hit by the pitch last night. Howie Rose reports that Wright was asked if he thought the plunk was intentional after stealing a base when the Mets were up by 5. Wright said he didn't think so.
  10. Good to see Cameron back. In an interview with Eddie C. on the pregame show, he sounded a little apprehensive to be back though... "everytime I see a couple guys coming near each other, I cringe a little..."
  11. I can't believe that out-and-out rooting for one team isn't one of the 9 pet peeves. I'm curious as to which announcers you think fall victim to these things. Which of the Met announcers are so terrible? Personally, I'm not a fan of everyone, but now that Fran Healy is gone I'm confident the overall quality of the announcing crew isn't that bad.
  12. ...but it's still nice to have the best record in baseball. Good game, thanks Pedro for showing once again you're worth every penny of the $15 million we pay you.
  13. Martinez 6 Julio 1.25 Delgado 1 Castro 1 Nady .5 Wright .25
  14. Ouch. IIRC, Hamulack was ejected in a game earlier in the season for throwing a retalliation pitch (hitting Bonds). OE: Not meaning to imply that Hamulack would intentionally throw at someone's head.

  16. Does Julio hit?...
  17. OlerudOwned wrote: Lets see if Julio can put that 97 mph fastball on someone now. My thoughts exactly. Look, Brian Giles coming up 2nd next inning.
  18. Julio hitting 97 with the fastball. Would be nice to get him straightened out if he's going to throw like that.
  19. 7 IP, 108 pitches, 1ER, 2H, 2BB, 11K. Nice job Pedro.
  20. Delgado...en fuego!
  21. Pedro at 96 pitches through 6 innings. I figure he gets one more before Heilman and Wagner.
  22. Pedro wastes no time getting out of the inning. Strange that Brazelton was allowed to hit.
  23. Rockin' Doc wrote: I was watching on WGN. Hawk Harrelson takes rooting for the home team to new heights (or lows). He actually said, "Come on Joe, take him out of here" during one Joe Creedy's at bats. I lived 5-6 blocks from Old Comiskey in the early 1980's, so the White Sox are my AL team. Harrelson was announcing their games back then, so I guess I'm accustomed to his being the ultimate "homer". Eh, between him and Santo on the Cubs broadcasts it's nearly impossible to watch the local games. I've been living in Chicago for a good chunk of the past few years and still am astonished by how bad they are as announcers.
