  1. I am really rooting for the Brewers to make the playoffs this year. Hope this does the trick for them.
  2. I don't like the Dobbs-Smith matchup. And really don't like the Utley-Smith matchup.
  3. SNY a little slow on announcing the changes. Durbin in, batting in Victorino's spot. Werth moves to center. Jenkins moves to right. Dobbs in, batting ninth, in left.
  4. Whoops, never mind.
  5. History tells us that we can get to Madson once he gets into his 8th inning of work.
  6. I don't like this Schoeneweis-Feliz matchup.
  7. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: I've never hated any Met as I hate Wagner. Bobby B. and Vince C. called, they say hello.
  8. The funny thing is that the single -- and only a single -- kept Schneider in the game. If he had made an out, they would've switched him out for Castro, as the pitcher's spot would be leading off the next inning. If he had gotten a double, they would've put in a pitcher to pinch run for him.
  9. Lost in the Wagner mess is the news that CC Sabathia has been traded to the Brewers.
  10. Good thing we got that insurance run, I guess.
  11. The 2:50 rain delay seems to have favored Pedro Feliciano. Let's hope Pat Burrell looks as lost as Howard did.
  12. I voted for Longoria, on merit, mostly. (I will admit that keeping Giambi off the roster did cross my mind). Here's hoping the Rays fans vote for Wright. After all, they already have Kazmir.
  13. With this long rain delay, I expect all CPFers to vote at least 25 times each for David Wright on the "final man" vote.
  14. If they call it, it goes as a 7 inning game and the Mets stats for the top of the 8th are wiped. Yes, Perez gets the CG, SHO and W if that happens.
  15. I think Wright will get it as a reserve third baseman. The other possible option for reserve second baseman is Aramis Ramirez of the Cubs, who is less likely to go, if only because the Cubs have 3 starters. At shortstop, Reyes might be most deserving but there's also Cristian Guzman and Miguel Tejada as possibilities. (I think Reyes goes). Billy Wagner might be relegated to the "Final man" vote.

  19. Whoops, I suck. Thanks Zvon for covering.

  22. Can't figure out why we haven't pulled Reyes and Wright at this point.
  23. Yeah, no kidding. A lot of the hits we got were some real cheapies. The real story is that Pelfrey is turning in another excellent start.

I can't see any situation in which the Mets would have the prospects available to trade for a premiere major league player.
  25. Scott McCaughey, the guy on the left, is also the second guitar player for R.E.M.
