  1. Outstanding KTE. My favorite was the ratings on the "True Yankee?" scale.
  2. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I'm surprised that, after so many years of interleague play, the Cubs had not yet gone to Boston. The Mets have been everywhere by now. I wonder if the NL Central having more teams is the reason that the Cubs (and presumably the Astros, Reds, etc.) haven't yet visited every American League city. Nope, just poor scheduling.

  5. Ah yes. That was the game where Cuzzi had previously unnecessarily escalated an argument with the Mets dugout (and specifically, Razor Shines) about whether a Giants batter's foot was in the box or not. Given my vantage point (see if you can spot yours truly at the very beginning of the video - lower left behind the plate) I took the opportunity to let Phil know what I thought about his umpiring. The downside to this was that the Giants fans around me also learned Mr. Cuzzi's first name and took every opportunity -- but in particular, after this play -- to let him know how they felt. Given that these two calls now have gone our way I'll have to remember to tell him it was nothing personal next time we run into each other.

  7. Sorry to use the space as a personal Craigslist. Due to an unforseen emergency, I think I need to dump my tickets for tomorrow's game (Mets at Yankees). 2 seats in Infield Terrace 327; Row 1, aisle seats. Substantial CPF discount available.
  8. I always think it as well. I also recognize the silliness of the "rules" about what you can and can't talk about but am at least able to respect them.
  9. I'm quite certain that Howie starts thinking about it every time the Mets pitcher goes through the first inning 1-2-3.
  10. I've always felt the cutoff was 6. You get through six and it starts crossing the mind as a true possibility.
  11. I used to love swimming. And I would rather watch that every day of the week and twice on Sunday before I see Jeter's commercial ever again.
  12. Gee gave up a walk but that's the only Nationals baserunner so far. Tejada singles to lead off the bottom of the third.
  13. Duplicate post
  14. 718-507-RAIN (7246) Kevin Burkhardt on Twitter is pretty fast with the rainout info too. Lennon had the info first last night. Chris Majkowski (@metswfan) will have the info fast too.
  15. Wow, real team names are a trip. Growing up we played on teams like "RC Tree Service" and "Midvillage Pharmacy"
  16. We had no problem with Gorzelanny at home this past April, getting 6 runs off him in 5 1/3 innings. Beltran took him deep twice. We faced Livan as well earlier in the year and -- for inexplicable reasons -- can't seem to hit him much at all.
  17. I hadn't planned on going this year but here I find myself (again) with seats to the game at the House of Evil on Friday night. I guess I started looking for tickets almost out of habit. I have this theory that if attending one of these games it's actually a more pleasant experience to do so when the Mets are the visiting team, if only because our stadium seems to draw more morons and yahoos to these particular games. There's also that extra satisfaction when the Mets win there. (Plus a good steak sandwich even if they don't).
  18. No doubt. At the risk of sounding wildly self-centered, I'm glad as I needed the night off from Mets baseball.
  19. Game will be made up on Monday, July 18 (a mutual off day).
  20. Opponents: Chris Coghlan CF Hanley Ramirez SS Logan Morrison LF Gaby Sanchez 1B Mike Stanton RF John Buck C Wes Helms 3B Omar Infante 2B Ricky Nolasco P
  21. National Weather Service forecast: Late Afternoon: Periods of rain and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 60. East wind between 11 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Tonight: Periods of rain and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Low around 55. East wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
  22. Our new-look lineup, weather permitting: Reyes SS Thole C Beltran CF Bay LF Murphy 1B Turner 3B Pridie CF Tejada 2B Niese P Chance of rain: 100% Chance of rain-out: 75% or better
  23. Couple of thoughts: 1. I did consider Willie Harris' play, but was of the opinion that his going 0-4 negated the positive effects of his play. I did however give bump up to Beltran for his play. This might be unfair of me. 2. I agree that we should be stingy in losses. If too many points are handed out in losses, than it negates the effect of good wins when multiple people contribute. -- I personally enjoy this thread. I mean no disrespect to anyone else but it baffles me that people dislike their Schaefer voting methodology questioned and/or discussed. Isn't that the point of a message board? Nobody's taking away your right to vote however you see fit but I really don't see the harm in civil discussion about it.
  24. Yes, because Turner will be playing third.
  25. attgig wrote: i'm guessing evans will be platooning with harris? Lennon thinks it will be Murphy, Tejada and Turner starting regularly at 1B, 2B and 3B respectively.
