  1. Harvey 1/5 Syndergaard 2/6 deGrom 3/7 Matz 4 Seems fine to me!
  2. Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
  3. Best line, talking about Syndergaard coming in, referencing the first Dodger batter: "100 for you!"
  4. I don't understand all of this "fear" and "anxiety" bullshit. When did we become such a wussy forum? Nothing but confidence here. Mets 3 - Dodgers 1. Today is the anniversary of the 1986 Game 6 LCS Victory.
  5. The only restriction I can see is that either Harvey or Syndergaard has to be held back to start the potential game 1 on Saturday. (I guess today might be their bullpen day and they could do an inning on the mound if necessary).
  6. The umpires were faced with a difficult play? They gathered to discuss it, and then checked the rule to make absolutely sure they had it right? Wow. What a fucking concept.
  7. 10 Reasons the Mets Will Win 1. The Dodgers couldn't hit deGrom at all. He struck out 13 and had no unintentional walks; and let's not forget that two of their five hits were Michael Cuddyer-misplays. 2. deGrom is on extra rest. No worries about his endurance or pitch count. 3. In contrast, the Mets could hit Greinke - at least some. "Some" is good enough when the Dodgers won't be getting any runs. 4. The Mets' best hitters are lefties (Granderson, Murphy, Duda) or hit righties better than lefties (Cespedes). 5. Expectations: the Dodgers lost in the NLCS in 2013, then lost in the division series in 2014. The pressure is on them and their $500 million payroll. As late as July, the Mets had no expectation of even making the playoffs. 6. Anger factor. The Mets had this series won in 3 games if not for egregious umpire misconduct and they know it. The anger might have subsided after they won game 3 but now that they have to play this game 5, they will remember again and take it out on the Dodgers accordingly. 7. If this game gets to the bullpens: advantage Mets. Nobody in the Dodgers bullpen is formidable except Jansen. 8. Dodger fans suck. As pointed out by a a friend who attended all 4 games so far: "The difference in atmosphere between LA and NY this series has been huge. LA very subdued, except when they were cheering a broken leg." 9-10. Fuck LA.
  8. They couldn't touch deGrom in game 1. Fuck them, they're going down.
  9. The Johnson/Darling/Ripken announcing team will do the NLCS for TBS.
  10. There is indeed a person who brings his dog to the plaza outside the stadium - near the subway entrance. There is a shirt and hat on the dog, with sunglasses, and usually some sort of pipe/cigar in the dog's mouth. It's not clear to me if he explicitly charges people to get their pictures taken with the dog or if it's the Times Square style intimidation that people should "tip" him for doing so. I find the entire scene disturbing and probably not healthy for the dog.
  11. I think this one was going too far.
  12. Hey, c'mon, it's not quite the experience battle you're making it out to be here. Matz has six starts, not four.
  13. Waitasecond. They pulled Dickey from the game with two outs in the 5th, a 6-run lead and only one runner on base? To go to David Price? WTF?
  14. Game 4 in Texas: 3 Blue Jay Homers and it's 7-0 Toronto in the middle of the third. It's also R.A. Rickey's first career postseason start.
  15. Hosmer homer pushes it to 9-6.
  16. Probably going to take extra innings for Reynolds to actually appear. Unless Terry thinks he should be a defensive replacement (?)..

  18. Oh, they're able to respond. Fastball in Adrian Gonzalez's ribs the next time he sets foot in the batter's box.

  20. Great inning. Just saved us a extra bullpen inning. Great play by Travis.
  21. I think I already saw somewhere that the Mets will be giving out orange towels on Monday.
