It was a four-game series sweep at Citizens Bank Park at almost the exact same time of year (August 27-30) eight years ago that presaged the collapse to come and era to follow. The Mets entered on a Monday leading the Phillies by six and left leading by two. They recovered for a couple of weeks, but the fuse was lit. Historical retribution is in order. Officially I take them one game at a time. But man oh man, I want to take four. Never mind that 23 of the current 25 Phillies will be, "What's 2007?" Stick it to Ryan Howard and Carlos Ruiz now and Chase Utley and Jimmy Rollins in October.
