  1. Assist to the umpire on that K. What a shit way to lose again. Robot umps, please
  2. I would have just left Gsellman in, don't want Ramos pitching at all and Blevins barely. Swarzak where art thou?
  3. Way to fight through that AB Guilloirme!
  4. i like the bunt plan, probably Reyes' best chance to get on base right now.
  5. Flores is a better option vs lefties at 1B. Hanley last played SS in 2014 and a single game at 3B the following year. If he can still fake it at 3B he's worth a look at least until Frazier is back, but if he is limited to 1B I don't see him being helpful
  6. I thought Matz might get in trouble there but he is through 6 without damage! now for the terror of the bullpen
  7. Bartolo turns 45 today!

  9. He really is done. He might survive until Cechinni is healthy? Or maybe they go with 14 pitchers..
  10. That is the likely reason. They finally smartened up and are not sitting Nimmo. Unleash the Bautista!
  11. There ia no reason not to challenge there, even if he was out by 10 feet you take the 1 in a million chance that some dumb video review guy th8nks the foot could have been off the bag. Ive seen worse with NFL replays.
  12. if he wants to play for Vegas for a little while its certainly possible that a team desperately lacking right-handed bench options, particularly until Frazier is back and relegates Flores there, could take a shot on this guy.
  13. Frayed Knot wrote: And now we're at 5 off-balance swings plus 4 punch-outs (three looking IIRC) thru three perfect innings. It's like a completely different human out there who just happens to look like the previous one. Easy to look good against Jeter's AAA squad
  14. Bartolo took a line drive to the stomach... I love this guy Big Sexy wrote: The important thing is we won the game and I was able to get the out, He got me on the side. It was not in the middle. And I have a big belly, so I can [handle] it.

  16. Canadian anthem sounds like the tune to the opening credits to Man in the High Castle

  20. Centerfield wrote: The teardown method is risky, and yes, it's unlikely but I feel like it's really the only way for a small market club to compete. Houston and KC pulled it off successfully. Other than them, the last 10 World Series winners followed the big market, spend money model. (Cubs, Giants, Red Sox, Yankees, Phils, Cardinals). The last time low payroll team won without a complete rebuild was the White Sox in 2005. (13th in payroll, no blow up rebuild). I would say the Cubs followed the tear down method too to get the top prospects only available at the top of the draft, but they followed that up with spending. Call it the "Big Market Tear Down" - Philly is trying to do the same.
  21. Bashing the Wright deal makes no fucking sense. He was a healthy all star caliber player, this was EXACTLY the type of contract the Wilpon Haters would bash the Mets for NOT handing out. You cant (credibly) just bash the result that was unforeseeable. Where the Mets erred, and where you can more justifiably criticize them, is in the length of time it took to stop holding out hope on a Wright return and sign Frazier or someone like him. The Dodgers or Yankees would have treated it as a completely sunk cost much sooner.
