  3. Also, Vargas needs to throw 110 pitches tonight and i don't care how many runs he gives up. The bullpen is fried and needs a break.

  6. The Mets had good reason to believe they could strongly improve on last year with just a little health. That hasn't happened. If the Mets dont put up a strong showing (85+ wins) then it is probably time to "blow it up" this off-season. Unless they want to get Machado and some pitching. That's fine too. But standing pat would be terrible.
  7. That was a Fucking Laser - fuck the bullpen
  8. Edgy MD wrote: Blurf. Learn how to bunt, Mets. Would have been nice if our hottest hitter didnt give up the first strike trying to do just that.

  10. on the glass half-full side: maybe this is a bullshit DL trip that wouldn't have happened under the old "15 day" rule but the Mets are now being cautious about even minor pitcher injuries, at least to the important guys.
  11. Mesoraco needs to be a little more discerning what he swings at 2-0. fuck.

I can only guess that nobody that works for the Mets is an actual Mets fan. Because if I assembled a billion Mets fans in a room, not a single one of them would say "Hey I know, let's start Vargas on short rest." At least a hundred of those fans would volunteer to pitch themselves. 5 or 6 might suggest a tee. Both of those options would get more votes than short-rest Vargas. The Tee would likely create more drag against the ball leaving the park!

Good job by the offense to rally after our starter gave back and early lead yet again. Conlon will probably get other chances, and probably deserves them, but it's going to be hard to find a way to win with an 85-mile-per-hour fastball. Colon seems to have no problem doing so!
  14. Yeah!! I knew I stayed up for a reason!
  15. A rare Reyes sighting! Come on Mets!
  16. Rain Rain Come back soon...
  17. 41Forever wrote: NIMMO Kaboom!!!! He's gotta stay in the lineup! Sitting him is just criminal at this point, are we an NBA team tanking for the lottery? Sorry Bruce, time to practice with that 1B mitt if you want to see the field.
  18. Centerfield wrote: Wheeler is terrible. ERA over 5. WHIP around 1.5. ERA lies, his FIP is not horrible

  20. This game is lining up perfectly for the bullpen to fuck it up
  21. Ramos getting his shoulder looked at, hopefully they find an explanation beyond "he sucks"
  22. How else would you pronounce Fried? I've never met a person whose name sounds like they were cooked in oil, and I know a lot if Frieds!
