  1. ] Does the NFL have a really strict testing/enforcement policy that I'm not aware of? stricter than baseball's at least, and its been in existence for alot longer.
  2. Were there any other pictures of her inside? (don't lie, you know you subscribe)
  3. Of the two issues Seo raised this is by far the easier to deal with. It doesn't have an effect (that I can see) on anyone's draft strategy nor does the number of people who join matter for this poll, thats why I put it up now before we have everyone signed up. The issue is how long do we want a player to be on waivers? The current rule is 72 hours. The proposal is to shorten it. The issue, in my mind, is that we don't want a reasonably diligent owner to "miss out" on a player on waivers. The question is how often must one check the site to be considered diligent? I don't expect the site to be checked every day, and I don't think anyone else here does either. I'd like to keep it at 72 hours but I'm perfectly happy with 48 hours. I'd think its a bit unfair to set it to 24, though as someone who checks his fantasy baseball religiously it wouldn't hurt me. discuss. edit- I intentionally did not set this up as a poll because it is likely, in my mind, that with at least 3 options there would have been no majority winner. If i see that discussion takes us in the direction of only two options I may set a poll up.
  4. perhaps MLB needs a rule that any prescriptions that will require you to get an exemption from a banned substance rule require the consent of a doctor not affiliated with an MLB team?
  5. well perjury certainly tops using illegal substances like steroids, but i'm not sure its higher up than distributing/selling.
  6. I like this deal for Baltimore, Jones is going to be really good for a really long time.
  7. Radomski gets 5 years probation today. Is that what McNamee can expect?
  8. i'd exterminate their asses faster than you can call the PETA idiots. FYI i think Mice are cuter than Guinea Pigs. ]But on the other hand, the public reprimand that the Mets gave Cleon Jones back in 1975 was unnecessary and it embarrassed the team (or at least, it should have) as much as it did the player. what did he do? i wasn't around
  9. The age of consent in a hypothetical country, lets say France, is 16. Player X goes to France and bangs a 16-year-old, should the team punish him? 15? 13?
  10. I don't know that Rocker deserved to be punished. He wasn't on the field or even on company time, and he didn't DO anything. I wouldn't punish freedom of speech.
  11. AG/DC wrote: ="Nymr83"]its legal there, not the Mets' business. How far do you want to take that logic? Whether or not the government should care, I don't think an employer should take any action against an employee for his actions that were legal in the country where they were taken (unless explicitly prohibited by his contract or something)
  12. its legal there, not the Mets' business.
  13. the waiver-time thing is easy to change and to put a poll up for once we have more people. the roster-sizes are, imo, too small if we only have 10-12 people. the'yre about right for the 17 we had the first year. i don't want to turn this into a boring (shallow) standard yahoo league. those already exist and everyone is free to join up to 4 of them.
  14. retiring 8, or any other number for a guy who was here 5 seasons, is absurd. i'm pretty borderline on piazza's 8 years earning a number retirement, though if he wears a met cap into the hall i suppose you have to.
  15. my honest guess (with no proof)? i think mcnamee saved it either because he could forsee being in a position to play stool-pigeon some day or because it would present an opportunity to blackmail Clemens.

  18. i'm on it. based on the thread from last year i'm gonna grab a Sunday.
  19. ]The Yankees were simply better that year. i say "luckier", starting with the ball that cleared the wall that wasn't a homerun and payton(?) forgetting how to run the bases other than that i agree with your post
  20. i just don't think it makes much sense to take money into account in this way with the Mets. clearly the Mets have tons of it, so just because A produced more wins per dollar than B doesn't make A for B a bad trade for the Mets, it might even be a good trade if B produced more wins even at a far higher cost. i'm not sure how i'd do it though.
  21. Pedro- if you don't throw him on day one he may already be injured by the time day two rolls around.
  22. what are your criteria? is it what the guys do for their new teams? what they do for the rest of their careers no matter where they play? these questions need answering. does it matter if a guy contributes to a playoff team while the guys he was dealt for were still too young to help?
  23. ="KC"]Namor: >>>i think the first thing you should do ...<<< You're hired. i think you missed a key word there.
  24. i think the first thing you should do is have a list of 40 years of trades (easily lifted from umdb) and cross off all the BS ones (Corey Brittan for Kane Davis) so that we're only talking about deals that matters.
