Two out." what happened there? Feliz hit a liner that got to delgado on one hop, delgado stepped on the bag and the tagged Werth (who i guess is out at 2nd because he was attempting to advance as oppose to diving back to first?)
  2. CARLOS DELGADO GOES KABOOM!!

Glavine doesn't give up a run but doesn't get the W as Boyer serves up a big 8th inning dinger to 2007 Robbed-of-MVP Matt Holiday

Vintage Maddux on display against the hapless Giants today. He goes 7 and allows 1 run, 93 pitches a 7 run game was enough to pull him after 7 innings.
  6. his inability to hit the ball very far is clearly a concern, and the major reason i would never have resigned him long-term (because he looks like exactly the kind of guy who will turn useless when his ability to frequently get infield hits diminishes.) But in the here an now, with him already on the team, it makes no difference to me how far his hits go as long as he gets them (or just sees plenty of ball fours.) The observations on his hitting ability (or weight gain, or losing his speed, etc) are all very relevant when deciding whether or not to sign him, but it shouldn't be the measure of his performance, if his obp/slg are where they have historically been i'm happy.

crap, i have Felix in a league for $$ wow, who the hell are O'Flaherty and :owe and where was the closer???
  9. tommorow will be the 3rd day off in 5 days, i don't like that.
  10. ="TransMonk"]="Nymr83"]I'll say it now: Castro should be hitting for Schneider here. Ramon Castro? The one on the DL? yeah my bad, we havent seen the backup yet and i had forgotten he was hurt. i still have to hit for schneider there. i guess brady clark.
  11. FUCK FUCK FUCK -Willie NEEDS to use Castro there -Schneider needs to NOT hack at the first pitch against a guy who is having trouble throwing strikes also the W-L rules for pitchers are just so dumb, any reasonable rule would stick the "L" on Heilman not Santana.

  13. good job by Pagan to be patient and draw the walk. he didn't swing the bat in 6 pitches.
  14. It is it me or does Beltran strikeout looking alot?
  15. Fuck. Heilman walks Chipper and then gives up a 2-run shot to Texiera, thats all folks.
  16. getting shutout SUCKS, especially with such a good pitching performance wasted
  17. Smoltz is done after only 5 shutout innings. lets beat this bullpen! ]Smoltz is out, why? first start back after DL stint, only 78 pitches though
  18. Delgado goes down looking well, at least Smoltz threw 25 pitches that inning?
  19. bmfc1 wrote: It must be great to be a Braves fan and believe that every single pitch from a Braves pitcher is a strike, no matter where it is thrown. There was a time when that was "true", in the sense that Maddux and Glavine got strikes literally 12 inches off the plate.
  20. back-to-back two out walks for Wright and Beltran, can Delgado capitalize?

Mike Jacobs hit a grand slam tonight after a walkoff homer yesterday, anyone regret that trade yet?
  22. I bet nobody ever borrows Alou's bats.
  23. Triple Dee wrote: Another point - why does Willie bring-in Sosa in a close game, instead of going with Heilman or Feliciano. Do these players have a contractual clause that allows them to pitch only when the Mets have the lead? you can't call for Heilman every time the game is +/- 3 runs, he'll pitch 70-80 games this year, if he'd pitched today and every game like today he'd have to throw 120 games. later in the season you may choose to use him on a day like today if he hasn't worked much lately, but it was the right move not to use him today.
  24. Sosa gives up the grand slam its 9-3 braves
  25. Wright kills his 2nd rally of the day.
