  1. ="Benjamin Grimm"]="SteveJRogers"]Try getting there early so you can get a space underneath the Whitestone Expressway under Northern Blvd. Do they still allow that? (I had heard that they didn't.) I used to do that all the time when I was a Sunday season ticket holder and lived on Long Island. I'd make a left turn out of my parking spot, a right on Main Street and that would lead me right to the LIE. i don't know which highway/overpass is which but the last few years the mets (presumably with the blessing of the city) have been charging for parking under the highways closest to shea.
  2. i'm headed to shea thursday night, anyone know what the parking situation is this year? public transportation just isn't going to cut it from staten island to flushing.
  3. the real problem wit hthis "reveal the number" thing is that, unlike the orioles with ripken's streak, we aren't counting up towards a good thing but down towards a bad one.
  4. you only need two of pagan, chavez, and clark. if you can really get a useful part for one of them (which i doubt) do it.
  5. Spitzer. I'm sure a good percentage of the players gets "escorts" to their hotels while on the road so he'd fit right in.
  6. I was out all day maybe someone can explain this to me, why does a pitcher go 5 scoreless innings, throw only 68 pitches, allow only 3 baserunners, and get yanked from the game? the pitcher is greg maddux for SD against LA today.
  7. nice pickoff, nice catch, inning over bottom of the lineup, lets do this!!!
  8. Gabe Kapler whacks Santana's 113th pitch out of the ballpark. fuck. its 5-2 brewers Carlos Muniz coming on.
  9. And Jason Kendall is hitting .452 while Prince Fielder is homerless... repeat after me.. "its only the 2nd week of april, its only the 2nd week of april, its only..."
  10. Renteria just broke it up in the 8th.
  11. If he gets to the 9th I'll bring up the radio broadcast on mlb.com
  12. A great throw by Schneider, I'll keep ripping on his weak stick but he does more than get the job done on defense. Santana K's Hardy, his 6th strikeout, and the inning is over without big damage.
  13. Wright lets a doubleplay ball get through his legs...thats not like him, and the met D has been a slopfest today behind Santana.
  14. Grote15 wrote: Just how did David Wright win that gold glove? Anyword if this is a short term or season ending Reyes hammy thing.. Johan recovers! he has range, makes spectacular plays, and plays the bunt well. the occassional throwing error is easy to remember, the ball that a guy doesnt get to because he isn't quick enough isn't. ]Anyword if this is a short term or season ending Reyes hammy thing its minor. you have extreme negativity issues.
  15. Why marry her? she'll do you anyway.
  16. Sheets gets Hart home on the bunt, I don't like that nobody covered 3rd and that let hart walk home, put the wheel on!
  17. Valadius wrote: I hate being out of market. I have no radio and no TV for this game. I'm relying on the internet. $14.95 for the season you get every radio broadcast in the league from mlb.com, its a good deal imo and a necesity when out of market.
  18. val, how are you so far behind?
  19. Delgado hits one off the wall!! its 2-0 Mets!
  20. Pagan scores on a sac fly in foul territory by Wright. Is it the "right" move to catch the ball there? With Wright at the plate and early in the game it probably was, but I can conceive of situations (other than the winning run on 3rd of course) where i'd want to drop that ball.
  21. Castillo hits it to the wrong side of the field with a man on 2nd and nobody out but gets Pagan over anyway.
  22. Santana K's Braun and gets a weak grounder from Hall to get out of the jam!
  23. you could make a killing with the sports books, quick whats today's score?
  24. Come on guys, nobody posted this yet? Brew Crew: Weeks 2B Kapler CF Fielder 1B Braun LF Hall 3B Hart RF Hardy SS Sheets P Kendall C Mets: Pagan LF Castillo 2B Wright 3B Beltran CF Delgado 1B Church RF Easley SS Schneider C Santana P The Mets should follow Milwaukee's example and hit Santana ahead of the catcher!
  25. comparisons are not unfair as long as your using stats like OPS+ that account for the league you are playing in. other sports, to my knowledge, don't have such statistics to compare players across eras, so if scoring in the NBA was lower in the 1970's there's no available fair way to compare a 70's player's scoring to lebron james.
