  1. inning over. We need Church in there and we need Alou back. Reyes Church Wright Beltran Alou Delgado Easley Schneider Pitcher looks pretty good.
  2. fielder's choice bring one in, and now its up to Casanova
  3. lets go Brady!!
  4. Delgado pops up and its Easley with bases loaded...
  5. jinx successful. now lets try again... lilly is throwing a SHUTOUT, he's SHUTTING OUT the Mets.
  6. I'll take Sixth Sense and Ghostbusters off my list in favor of Back to the Future which i didn't think of and a Bond movie - likely Goldeneye or Goldfinger.
  7. Ted lilly is PERFECT through 10 batters, thats right, he's throwing a PERFECT game... (you can still jinx those things right?)
  8. Catcher Rookie Geovany Soto impressed last year and is hitting .306 with 2 homers in the young season. his backup is the slap-hitting Henry Blanco. 1st Base Derrick Lee is out of the gate with a big .358/.411/.691 start, the Cubs are really smacking the ball around. Lee is looking to stay healthy and put up the big numbers he did last year. 2nd base The light-hitting Mike Fontenot starts at 2B, a place holder until the contending Cubs find someone better. a trade with the Orioles for Roberts would be ideal. Shortstop The speedy Theriot is the starter, but he missed yesterday with a bad back and was replaced by the stick-less Ronny Cedeno (not to be confused with the equally bad hitter Roger Cedeno.) 3rd Base Aramis Ramirez is at it again hitting .282/.409/.563 Outfield With Alfonso Soriano on the DL the outfield consists of the young Felix Pie, japanese import and immediate fan-favorite Fukudome who homered opening day in the 9th inning and hasn't since, and utility guy Mark DeRosa. Far superior hitter Matt Murton is nowhere to be found. Starters the Mets are 8-1 against lefties this year and will face 0-3 lefty Ted Lilly who won 15 games last year but holds an ERA over 9 this April. i'll skip the other starters since we wont see them in this brief 22 game set Bullpen Marmol has been lights out in the setup role and former phenom Kerry Wood has been getting the job done as the closer. In the late inning the lefties need to look out for former starter Sean Marshall, the only lefty in the Cubs bullpen. Ex Mets: NONE! this concludes the emergency and abreviated KTE.
  9. Castillo wastes no time flailing at the first pitch despite needing baserunners...
  10. there was no reason to take heilman out given the score, just let him try and finish it
  11. Aafter fouling off 3 2-strike pitches ceeno smacks a single putting the mets down 4-1. great effort by heilman after the E.
  12. HE GETS THE BIG POPUP!
  13. he gets the HUGE STRIKEOUT
  14. no thanks to his defense, heilman has loaded bases with nobody out...
  15. reyes and wrignt both getting sloppy..
  16. Mets get one back but Beltran strands 2 runners. Its 2-1 Cubs.
  17. yeah! lets walk fontenot to get to lee! great idea!
  18. Aramis hits the big F-You shot. 2-0 Cubbies
  19. I'm going off the top of my head here so this is all subject to change: The Hunt for Red October Shawshank Redemption The Final Countdown Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn Goodfellas Ghostbusters The Sixth Sense Knocked Up X-Men 2 the first 6 are in no particular order but are higher than the bottom 4. i like knocked up alot but i'm sure that spot could just as easily have gone to a different comedy like Road Trip or American Pie
  20. willing to write emergency KTE, just give the word edit 830pm- anyone here? seawolf?
  21. i guess they could stretch him out in long relief or just accept that his first few starts will be 3-4 innings, but who do they demote? do they tell mussina he sucks and send him to the pen? probably not, they probably send Kennedy to AAA for more seasoning.
  22. given that the closer is a lefty and feliciano is a lefty i just dont see the need for a 1-out lefty specialist in this bullpen. heilman is here to stay, i like both sanchez and smith alot. that leaves 2 spots for Sosa, Schoenweis, and Wise and i like sosa both as a longman and spot starter, roles i dont trust schonweis in. so it really comes down to him and wise for that last spot and i like wise better (unless you think it is worth weakening the team by putting smith in the minors in order to hold on to everuone, i don't believe thats worth it.) [/end run-on sentence]
  23. its great having Sanchez back and its nowhere near the time to "get on" Heilman yet. As for Wise i'd rather have him on the roster than Schoenweis, who is redundant with Feliciano (who is better.)
  24. the system measures longevity in a met uniform more than anything else.
  25. Church was doing great hitting 2nd, why move him back down? He's a better hitter than Castillo by far. Once Alou gets back, if he ever does, I'd like to see Church 2nd every day instead of 7th between Alou and Schneider. Speaking of Schneider is he seriously injured?
