  3. This $1000 waiver budget should be interesting. FMan spent $21 on Ramon Hernandez Vic spent $10 on a few guys I took Gamel for $1, i can DL him immediately and bid $1 on someone else now

  5. I'm reasonably happy with my team though there were a few key guys in rounds 10-20 that i really wanted and thought would fall to me but didnt. Hitters- Olivo, Pujols, Hairston, Escobar, Reynolds, Glaus, Bourn, Soriano, Hawpe, Heyward, Smith Pitchers- Carpenter, Cain, Webb, Hoffman, Capps, Richard, Blanton, Padilla, Penny bench- Looper, Marshall, Myers, Nieve, Vazquez I goofed on Vazquez seeing the name and forgetting the injury, that cost me the chance to grab Lindstrom or Morales both of whom should get some saves this year and almost made it to my next pick
  6. i pick 1st! i have 22 minutes to talk myself out of pujols!
  7. Crasnick has an article about the rotation on ESPN.com http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/spring2010/columns/story?columnist=crasnick_jerry&id=5026560 Jose Reyes' thyroid, Carlos Beltran's knee and David Wright's power stroke are all vital to the success of the New York Mets this season. But they're still not as important as the pitching of Mike Pelfrey, Oliver Perez and John Maine in the second, third and fourth spots in the rotation. In other painfully obvious news, Mr. Met has an extremely large head.
  8. largest bribe to fman by 7pm gets [crossout:33cdro9h]the first pick[/crossout:33cdro9h] Pujols
  9. in a 12 team league i'd say you need one guy you can count on for saves and probably want a couple of guys who may get saves at some point this year. particularly useful are guys like Marmol and Lidge before they became closers because you knew that not only were they next in line but they'd strike out 90+ batters for you and not be useless until then.

well if we're only talking a week then why are we starting tejada's "arbitration clock" or whatever by bringing him up at all?

I'd prefer starting Tejada or Adams, its Tejada in the majors but on the bench that would bother me.

On edit: If Reyes isn't ready by opening day, then Tejada should ride some pine...but I bet Jose will be ready I strongly disagree with this. If Tejada (or Fernando Martinez, or Ike Davis) isn't going to play every day (or at least start 5 times a week) I don't want them on the roster, I'd rather have them playing every day in Buffalo. "riding the pine" isn't where i want my top prospects.

wasnt Igarashi given a 2 year deal? that alone likely jumps him onto the roster ahead of Calero and maybe Misch (Misch stays if there isnt another viable long man)

  16. yankees/phillies on two channels, mets not on tv. fuck.
  17. I'd be very disappointed not to see Carter on the roster. he and Jacobs cant make it together unless the Mets decide to have a smaller pitching staff
  18. I'd pass on Guzman, he'll be near useless when Reyes returns unless he can replace Cora, but he's never played any other position but SS so its hard to see him in a utility infield role.
  19. i think a city needs to shun a contender before i start calling them out as terrible fans (looking at you, florida!)
  20. fan base = all the friend and family of the players plus whoever scored free tickets that night
  21. I prefer to try Tejada out if its more than a couple of weeks, but for less than that I'd go with Adams.
