  1. They are saying on the radio Tejada is banged up badly after tripping or trying to slide into 1B I hope he is ok, and I hope he tripped because sliding into 1st instead of running through the bag is stoooooopid
  2. Given that I was ready to non-tender him rather than risk arbitration this past offseason, I'd certainly do so again. But I have questions- If a player suffers injury and is placed on the DL does the team owe him anything past his current contract in terms of medical? Would he just have to file for worker's comp if still injured (and nobody else signs him?). Probably a moot point as he'll get the minimum from someone (or a minor league contract, either one of which gets him free access to his new team's doctors) but I'm just curious
  3. that purple dinosaur is on my "ugliest mascots" list.
  4. The marlins looked sloppy as shit out there this week, I'm not worried about them in the division race, I've upgraded my Mets projection to 3rd place!

    Pel Free

Harvey homered today! I still wouldn't call him up yet.
  6. I think the formerly free parking under the overpass that was alluded to above is now a pay lot, no? Parking can be a pain at citi but if you get there early and grab a spot near the exit you'll be flying home. The 7 trains after the game are a zoo, worse than Times Square at rush hour. Be prepared to shove your way through a crowd and onto a packed train or wait for 2 or 3 of them to pass by.
  7. Yankee Stadium is worse, you have people placing cones in public parking spaces to "sell" them to drivers.
  8. Rodriguez is a NO DOUBT hall of famer, but you never know who gets branded a steroid user and kept out.
  9. Livan Hernandez still has that crazy curve huh?

  11. More runners left on, fuck everyone!
  12. Mets might need to call up an emegency innings eater after Dickey follows Santana to an early exit
  13. Too many missed opportunities for the Mets today already
  14. Ike grounded into a fielder's choice, Murphy out at home. Bay lines out (shit) Now its up to Duda
  15. No rain delay just a pitching change!
  16. Wright gets the RBI on that, its ruled a single, and Murphy takes 3rd on the throwing erro, right?
  17. Captain Kirk with his first steal, good job! Just like stealing candy from a baby or cloaking devices from the Romulans. Wright gives the Mets the lead! Now one RBI short of Strawberry! Umm... Why was Wright sent there with one out? Fuck
  18. Take the best available players early, later in the draft you can worry about what positions/skills you need to fill out the rosters in St Lucie or Brooklyn, I'd never worry about the big leagues and only a very little about the upper minors (and even then only after the first couple of rounds)
  19. Edgy DC wrote: Will also be an instant fan favorite because of his hustle and all out style. = White guy, fun Polish name. ...Or he turns into Jason Tyner. Or Gomez who had maybe one good year elsewhere. In the first round, give me a guy with some pop in his bat!
  20. Benjamin Grimm wrote: They should lock him in a room with Suzyn Waldman for 48 hours. You might as well schedule his murder trial for the next day. "OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS, ROGER CLEMENS IS BEATING ME OVER THE HEAD WITH MY MICROPHONE"
  21. Edgy DC wrote: Every other year, fucking up the draft is cool. When you are winning, few care about how well you are perceived to have drafted. Also, with so many high picks and Wilpon's buddy not calling in MLB' sloan to help him out or whatever, I want to see if the Mets will pass on anyone to stick to Selig's "slot", which would be another way to fuck up (and I'd argue far less forgiveable than subpar talent evaluation)
  22. Mets will pick 12th, then 35th and 71st for losing Reyes, then again at 75th with their own 2nd rounder. A great chance to stock up the system here for the Mets, who need to not fuck this up.
  23. Fman99 wrote: I hope he gets the chair. I'm partial to a firing squad... Clemens is forced to stand in the batters box while getting beaned over and over again by all the pitchers who didn't cheat.
  24. The "blooper real" would be extremely classless to do to an ex-met. Would be very funny for chipper though. I wouldn't boo Reyes at all, the fucking team didn't even make an offer so why is it his fault he isn't here? For Chipper, part of me thinks he deserves polite applause, but I think I'd rather give him some loud boos to remember us by, and some chants of LAAAARRRYYY
  25. wow. i havent seen Bay hit the ball that far in a Mets jersey.
