    Rose has grown on me as well and I agree that Lewin who I like is a big part of it. I do still miss Bob Murphy on the radio.

    Thole now in the game. Jenrry Mejia, first start at AAA on the long road back from Tommy John surgery, 68 pitches (45 for strikes) in 6 innings of 2-hit ball (1 walk, 2 Ks).

    Hitting the ball very gently (ie bunting) is a great way to ensure that only bad things happen! Yeah it was Dillon Gee, but could we just stop robotically bunting please?

    Howie Rose reporting on air that Josh Thole, DHing for Buffalo tonight, was pinch-hit for early. No explanation yet. Concussions are the injury that don't stop fucking you. Someone bean Wiggy in the face for causing this one!

    It beats WPIX cutting to a sitcom rerun imo, and I wouldn't want "Mets Classic Games" or anything like that because who would want to cut out of Game 6 to get back to the rainout? Yearbook is fine, keep it on mute til the game comes back if you really want.

    I don't think there is any evidence that two innings on Monday will burn a guy out faster than one inning monday and one inning tuesday. If anything the guy who threw two on monday and was unavailable tuesday spent less pitches warming up.

    Every time I see a prospect described as having speed and no power I think of Jason Tyner. Trust your scouts and your stat geeks (please tell me you have both, right?) And take the best player on your board... But if its close, I'd tend to avoid guys whose best "tool" is speed and opt for the guy who hits well, doesn't embarass himself in the field (projects to a corner spot but not DH), and hits some doubles that the scouts see turning to homers when the kid fills out his frame.

    It goes without saying that I benched Hairston for some guy named Aoki in my NL-only league this week (weekly lineups.) He just made me wish I'd slept late instead of checking the computer before I went to work today! Tied again! Come on MLB, jack up the volume on the radio feed so I can hear the 7th inning singing!
