I have to admit something that some may find mildly amusing. I never knew that the Tampa affiliate is named the Tarpons. I'm pretty up on MiLB namesakes, for some reason (probably the yankiness) just never really noticed. They have some cool logos.

Things are so slow that MLB Network turned off the bottom scrolly bar. Maybe the Mets can summon the Ghost of Don Zimmer to take the bench helm.

I know all that, but if you or I were found sleeping in a running car at a traffic light and charged with a DWI in White Plains, NY at 4:00 am I can assure you (98.378% of the time) you're getting the book thrown at you. And rightly so. He skated.

Not to flog a now-dead story, but was there no breathalyzer or blood test? I've never heard of anyone getting off by not appearing drunk on a body-cam video of a sobriety field test being played in court. And if he didn't appear drunk in the field tests why was he arrested. Shouldn't the officer have to answer to that? It all really doesn't add up but whatever.

Which is primarily business as usual. Just nothing is gonna get done until everyone pulls their hands out from under their asses and resolve stuff and move on. I'm losing patience with it faster than anticipated. Have to find that prediction thread and look at the dates wagered on.

Yeah, he's 29 (I kinda forgot he must have played four years of college ball) and won't be a FA until 2025. He's good to have around. Cano might juice again, Lindor could trip over his pet armadillo and all kinds of stuff.

Might be fun to have around as a cog or a fastener, certainly not a full- bullpen-wheel spoke. I'd be disappointed if they committed much to him.

I haven't bought an article of Mets clothing in probably 7-8 years but I would proudly wear a tee shirt with that handsome logo on it. (added personal bonus, I too was Est. 1962)
