  3. I was watching the Atlanta telecast on Extra Innings. Two things: Eric Hinske, striking out in the seventh with two runners on, yelled "FUCK!" so loudly that it was very easily heard on TV. The Braves announcers thought that Carlos Delgado was from Panama. And that included Carlos' former teammate Tom Glavine who was one of the three voices in the booth.

  5. I should have made it clear that that list is of games in which a pitcher homered, not a list of all homers by a pitcher.
  6. Wow, the 2000's were a pretty skimpy decade for homers by Mets pitchers.
  7. There doesn't seem to be a way for the public to do that particular search. I was able to generate those results by accessing the database directly.

  9. I would prefer a blue button on top of the cap instead of an orange one, but It's not a big issue for me. Have the Mets changed the shade of the blue in their cap? I've noticed that the blue caps that Tom Seaver and Jerry Koosman wore back in the day were a darker blue than the closer-to-primary blue that the Mets have worn in recent seasons. I think this year's caps are a bit darker, but I'm not really sure of that.

Howard Johnson 214 5. Edgardo Alfonzo 212 6. Carlos Beltran 208 It will be quite a while before anyone dethrones David Wright in this category. 11. Oh, I'm with you. I'm just not convinced it's Jerry's disease. I suspect it may be the overall conventional "wisdom".
  12. Oh well, a sweep would have been so nice, but two out of three ain't bad.

  18. These uniforms look fantastic.
  19. Murphy at third and Turner at second seems the way to go to me.
  20. If I can learn how to spell Nieuwenhuis (and I have!) then, if necessary, I can learn how to spell Tuiasosopo.
  21. Now you have me wondering who was the first Tyler. Or Shaun. Or Brandon. Or Lastings. Who was the first Lastings? And who was the last Firstings?
  22. I vote that we lobby Ruben Tejada to shorten his name.
  23. Voting for Wednesday afternoon's loss to the Nationals will close some time over the weekend. Schaefer POTG 4/11/12 - Nationals 4, Mets 0
