  6. Yeah, I have no idea either. But with such prolonged suckage, I don't think we can still assume that he'll eventually snap out of it. Maybe he will; I sure HOPE that he will. But maybe he won't.
  7. So wait... are we saying that they're playing like they're constipated?
  8. Who would have anticipated that we'd all be agreeing that Bay is more valuable than Davis? Especially since Bay hasn't stopped sucking yet.
  9. And more and more, I'm thinking that if he goes down, he may never come back. I hate to say it, but there's a real possibility that he's washed up.
  10. I'm more curious, I think, about who they would trade rather than who they would get. I don't think the Mets are inclined to deal their top prospects (nor should they be) and beyond that, who can they trade? Maybe they have a few guys who are not quite blue chip, but who would have some trade value. (Nieuwenhuis? Gee?) But I don't see that players of that caliber can be traded for a real difference maker.
  11. If the Mets want to continue to hang in this pennant race, they need to act like they're serious about winning. And teams that are serious about winning aren't content with a first baseman who hits .160. If they were ten games below .500 right now, I'd be more willing to be patient with Ike. But if it were up to me, I'd send him down now (or at most, in the next fifteen minutes) and move Duda to first. And I'd let Hairston play every day, at least for the time being.
  12. Voting for all four games played against the Cardinals over the weekend (and into Monday) will close on Thursday morning. Schaefer POTG 6/1/2012 - Mets 8, Cardinals 0 Schaefer POTG 6/2/12 - Mets 5, Cardinals 0 Schaefer POTG 6/3/12 - Mets 6, Cardinals 1 Schaefer POTG 6/4/12 - Cardinals 5, Mets 4
  13. Maybe some day we can have a rotation of Gee/Harvey/Oswalt.

Murphy, a 13th round choice, was clearly the best of the bunch. wow, Pedro Beato was on the CPF radar going back to then and I assume before that. So, three of those guys made it to the bigs with the Mets, Smith, Murph and Stoner, anyone else do anything? Well... Kevin Mulvey got us a portion of Johan Santana.

  16. Yeah, but today is the day we start caring about these kids. No, I've never heard of any of them before, but that really doesn't matter.

  18. Niese indicated he likely will have a minor surgical procedure during the July 9-12 All-Star break. Hopefully everything turns out okay. Is he going to be sending Carlos Beltran a bill for this procedure?
  19. Max Fried? Isn't that one of the chicken varieties at KFC?

  21. Well, if there are web pages that say that superstition is good, then it must be true.

  23. Especially since, for every no-hitter EVER, there was somebody, somewhere, who mentioned it. To think that the whole world is honoring this nonsense is absurd. And I'm not saying it's harmful, or that I'm angered or upset about it. I'm just saying that I'm on "Team Gary" on this issue. I want my announcers to say the words "no-hitter" or "perfect game" when they're applicable.
