  1. A huge blue erection, which is the best kind!
  2. The Yankees are the only team that the Mets have defeated four times this year:
  3. Buck 0.2 Byrd 2.2 Duda 0.4 Gee 5.2 Parnell 1 Quintanilla 0.4 Rice 0.6
  4. Adam Rubin wrote: Jon Niese left shoulder tendinitis. Skip "at least" one start. Has been bothering him past few starts.
  5. News keeps getting worse and worse, doesn't it?
  6. I think Vic is saying that Gee and Hefner should lose their spots to Wheeler and McHugh. (I find that I can't type about McHugh and Gee in the same sentence without wanting to type "McGee".)
  7. Nice headline on a New York Times article: First and Short Have That Third-and-Long Feel
  8. SCHAEFER METS PLAYER OF THE WEEK, 2013 Week ending April 6: John Buck, 7.21 points. Week ending April 13: Matt Harvey, 9.04 points. Week ending April 20: David Wright, 6.24 points. Week ending May 25: Daniel Murphy, 6.86 points.
  9. Marlon Byrd's total of 0.02 averaged down to zero, so he does not appear among the results.
  10. I voted Hefner, because I'm trying to predict what I think will happen. But if it was my decision, I'd go with Gee.
  11. Wow... I've never listened to him. I don't even know what his voice sounds like.
  12. Ceetar wrote: Bitter Sarcasm is my bit. Hell, i tone it down on the internet. I thought that your schtick was cockeyed optimism?
  13. Voting for Tuesday night's win against the Yankees at Citi Field will close on Friday afternoon, some time after 2 p.m. Schaefer POTG 5/28/13 - Mets 2, MFYs 1
  14. Ankiel 0.5 Buck 1.25 Byrd 1.25 Davis 1.25 Duda 1.25 Hefner 2 Murphy 1.5 Rice 1
  15. A four-game winning streak has the Mets up to a winning percentage of .420, which is still bad but a bit less horrible than were they had been. They currently project to a final record of 68-94.
  16. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Don't make this too complicated. Ruben goes down to Vegas only until he proves he deserves to be back up. Yeah, it really is that simple.
  17. Those long-term hopes would have to be a lot less than they had been, I would think. I don't think the Mets should give up on him, but they might as well send him to Vegas. Tell him he'll have to earn his way back. And everyone (Ike, the Mets, the fans) should be prepared for the possibility that he'll never do so.
  18. I agree. We've definitely reached the point of "what the hell?"
  19. If that's true, that he's taking strikes and swinging at balls, then he's about as lost as you can be.
  20.
