  1. Interesting point, Willets. Rings true to me. (I only saw the first Jaws sequel, and the first two Rocky sequels, by the way.)
  2. SteveJRogers wrote: You also missed the Fugitive. No, he didn't.
  3. I forgot about Untouchables when I listed the few TV-shows-turned-movies that I had seen. I agree. Great movie. These remake movies, as you categorize them, are almost always a bad idea. I don't see the point. (Creatively, anyway. Obviously there's a financial incentive.) It's hard to believe they haven't done Gilligan's Island yet. Or Mister Ed. Or I Dream of Jeannie. I guess it's just a matter of time. And Vic, I think you missed My Favorite Martian from your list.
  4. The eleven movies: The Avengers Bewitched The Dukes of Hazzard Fat Albert The Flintstones Inspector Gadget Lost in Space The Mod Squad Scooby Doo SWAT Wild, Wild West I actually didn't see any of them, though I did catch a few minutes of both Flintstones and Scooby on television. Of movies based on TV shows, the only ones I can think of that I've seen are The Brady Bunch Movie and The X-Files. I'm surprised that Cedric's Honeymooners didn't make the list. It looked as awful as a movie can be. EDIT: Oops, I forgot, I did see the first two or three Star Trek movies.
  5. I saw the preview and was intrigued at first. A Mars rover encountering some alien force. Then I found out it was the Transformers and for some reason, I lost all interest.
  6. I think Woody Allen forgets who she adopted.
  7. I had Duck Soup on my list too. In fact, I had three overlaps with Vic, (Duck Soup, King Kong, and Casablanca) and they were probably my only three no-brainers. I thought about going with two Marx Brothers movies and also including Animal Crackers but Duck Soup is the only film the Brothers made that wasn't bogged down with romantic subplots, and stands far above the rest. I ended up picking Humphrey Bogart three times and could easily have gone with more: The African Queen and The Maltese Falcon for example.
  8. We should give MFS62 some kind of a Mia Farrow award.
  9. I'll do the top-of-my-head thing too: King Kong (1933) Duck Soup Casablanca Bride of Frankenstein Treasure of the Sierra Madre High Noon The Desperate Hours The Out-of-Towners Take the Money and Run Spider-Man
  10. Maybe I'll give it a shot, then.
  11. Didn't see Unbreakable. I was intrigued by it, but never did get around to seeing it. The only two "Night" films I've seen are the two I mentioned.
  12. I really liked The Sixth Sense, and hated Signs. In fact, I hated Signs so much that I'm not inclined to see any more of Night's films. So no Lady in the Water for me. Even though my daughter says that Paul Giamatti's character looks like me.
