It's really looking more and more like they'll cut him loose at the end of the season, doesn't it? That's $13 million that can be used towards enticing Cespedes to return. Does he even make the post-season roster, should we be fortunate enough to have one?
If I had been watching the Super Bowl that year, and had seen that commercial, I wouldn't have known what kind of message they were trying to deliver. Log on to a website to learn more about the Tebow family? My response would have been, "Who gives a rat's ass?"
Thanks, everyone, for the explanations. For me he's been one of those people whose name is very familiar but I've never really focused on why his name is so familiar.
Me neither. I don't mind Terry changing his plans, but since they are so often subject to change, he probably should stop making pronouncements about what he's going to do.
They did well against him on September 16, 2011, July 8, 2014, and April 23, 2015. So there's hope! Four Mets have homered off Teheran: Lucas Duda (twice), Curtis Granderson, David Wright, and Wilmer Flores.
Can somebody explain why Tim Tebow is such a big deal? All I know about him is that he was a briefly successful quarterback, is very religious and is (or was) "saving himself" for marriage. The first two things are common enough. The third is, well, I don't know... It doesn't seem like the kind of thing that would make someone wildly popular. So what is it? What have I missed?

I agree with Namor. The sooner this becomes a two-team race the better. The Cardinals winning last night increases the chances of the Mets not making it at all.
I was totally expecting Conforto to hit into a 1-2-3 double play when he was up with the bases loaded and nobody out in the first. That two-run single was a very pleasant surprise!
