  1. Matt Treanor married Misty May. I don't know who either of them are, so I don't know who's more famous. Casey Daigle married Jennie Finch. I don't remember him, but I do remember her as a softball star. Chuck Finley (who I do remember) married Tawny Kitaen, whose name I've heard before. She's an actress and media personality, but she doesn't look familiar. I'll vote for Chuck on this one. Here's Tawney with Tom Hanks, who's even more famous than Misty May!
  2. In retrospect, it seems strange to think that Joe DiMaggio could have married somebody more famous than he was, but I guess he did! I'll have to Google to see who Matt Treanor, Casey Daigle, and Chuck Finley married.

I always understood the rule to be no news that will interfere with game coverage. I think it was okay for the Yankees to fire Girardi on a travel day. But did they in fact announce anything? Or did this story leak out?
  4. He'd probably be considered a Presidential contender.
  5. Are the Mets considering a return of Tim Teufel? The Mets’ problematic infield defense has team officials considering a reunion with a displaced member of the coaching staff. According to industry sources, Tim Teufel, who was reassigned within the organization after the 2016 season, is under consideration for a role on new manager Mickey Callaway’s coaching staff. It’s unclear if Teufel would be a candidate for the vacant bench coach position or used as a base coach. Full article: Mets could turn to familiar coach to solve infield issues
  6. I think the Mets should hire the little girl on the left as their new trainer.
  7. An article on Mets.com by Anthony DiComo says that Milone, along with Reyes, is a free agent.
  8. I guess it's still possible that Jose will be back, but it does seem very unlikely.
  9. Here's a thread from 2013: That Lazy No Good Justin Turner It's not as readable as it should be. It looks like we're having server issues where the style sheet isn't being recognized. We do apologize for any inconvenience.
  10. Mike Puma reviews some of the Mets pitching coach options: http://nypost.com/2017/10/25/world-series-winning-pitching-coach-on-the-mets-radar/
  11. I kind of expected that they would do that.
  12. I'm wondering if Rick Monday will get into any of the games.
  13. Mets bench coach in 2017.
  14. Apparently this guy was the sixth guy that the Mets interviewed, the so-called mystery candidate.
  15. Bruce Jenner has also changed somewhat.
  16. Names? Larry Bowa? Moose Stubing?
  17. Frayed Knot wrote: Also, Dusty's strength, at least as far as I read it, is that he's a good people manager but not the best strategist. I'd kind of want the opposite in a bench coach. I agree that the key role of a bench coach should be to whisper strategic suggestions to the manager.
  18. You'd look different too, if you had your neck surgically removed.
  19. Edgy MD wrote: Not my first choice, though. Because you're not high on Dusty, or because you have someone better in mind? I floated Dusty Baker's name because it was at the tip of my tongue. (Or the tips of my fingers, more accurately.) I would like it to be an experienced manager who's had recent exposure to the National League.
  20. I was hoping that his wife's name was Sylvia.
  21. I wonder... how often does a rookie manager get a three-year contract? It seems like it would be a pretty rare thing.
  22. If he wants to sound like Terry, he'll use the word "energy" a lot.
