    I think the two things are on separate tracks. The MLB owners will vote on their own schedule. I don't know what deBlasio is doing. Hopefully nothing. I knew him at NYU 37 years ago. I should have talked to him about this back then.

    He really should have been evicted. His later excuse, that he thought the bat shard was a baseball, was ridiculous. An experienced major league pitcher is likely to know what a baseball feels like in his hand, and they weren't playing kickball. If he thought it was the ball, he should have thrown it to first base. I remember hoping that on the next pitch, Piazza would hit a line drive off Clemens' chin.

    The Mets have so little starting pitching depth right now. They shouldn't be ruling anyone out at this point. I'm even regretting that Walt Wallet slipped away!

    I've kind of had my fill of second-tier starters. That smells a lot like bringing in another Porcello and another Wacha. You're right, though, we have no idea how much spending Cohen is going to be willing to do. I think he's going to want to go big, but we can't assume that. We can't even assume that he's going to get control of the team.

This is from an inconsequential article on Yahoo Sports: Asked Wednesday night in an SNY poll which player they would most like to see in a Mets uniform in 2021, Bauer garnered the most votes -- more than J.T. Realmuto, Nolan Arenado, George Springer, and Francisco Lindor.     Well, I searched the UMDB, which has every Mets player, opponent, and minor leaguer since 1962, and Bruce is the only YI guy. Of course, that doesn't account for the decades before 1962.
