Any word on how she's doing?

And the Mets now play in a DH league, so there's that.

I found an image of him wearing a cap: http://leaptoad.com/mets/photos/1166.jpg> I normally don't choose profile pictures, but sometimes it's the best choice. Inciarte was the only the fifth Met player to have a surname beginning with the letter I. If I didn't already know who they were, I know I would have been able to guess two of them, maybe three, but never all four.

I guess I could use one of those too. 🤔

It would have even more of an impact if the Blue Jays were considered to be a potential postseason opponent.

So what happens? The Royals call up ten guys from AAA for three days?

I'm sure that baseball fears that it will go the way of boxing. I'd probably a valid concern. I remember when a heavyweight title fight was a big deal, now I'm sure the very few people know who the current champ is. I'm pretty confident (though not certain!) that MLB and the Mets will be around for the two or three decades that remain for me. I don't (and won't) know what happens after that. The notion that people would be fans of particular players instead of teams is interesting. I don't have that perspective at all, but I can see how that might work for some younger fans. There are probably some who followed LeBron James from team to team, for example. I'm not sure that would work as well for baseball, but I suppose it's happening anyway.

The twelfth-oldest living Met at the time of his death. Now, Dave Eilers moves into the Top Twenty, and Bart Shirley enters the Top Forty. http://leaptoad.com/mets/oldestliving.phphttp://leaptoad.com/mets/oldestliving.php

I was gonna guess that Mrs Lofton was 7'4".

You're saying that "nasally", aren't you?

What was the "May 10 cutdown date"? Did seasons start with larger rosters back then?
