Voting for all games played through April 14, the series against the Royals at Citi Field, will close on Monday, April 22. If there are any games that you haven't yet voted for, and intend to, please try to do so this week.

UniWatch reported that Bryce Harper has been wearing his 2023 uniform (pants and jersey) and that others have been seen wearing 2023 pants. It would be nice, a kind of silent revolt, if more players started doing this. Obviously, players who switched teams over the offseason won't have this option, although I think if I was a player who was with a new team in 2024, I'd buy some custom authentic 2023 uniforms from a sporting goods retailer.

I noticed that too yesterday. I'm just glad that Gary Cohen isn't calling him Jay-or-reese.

He'll start more games, and pitch more innings, than Tylor Megill.

    Reggie Smith?

I didn't comment on this earlier, because I was watching on delay, but early in the game Keith and Gary were talking about how Starling Marte likes the "two-hole". I hope they were talking about his position in the batting order, but I don't want to assume anything.

Maybe they're going to dress as the Ham Burglar.

I don't know whether I should be optimistic or pessimistic about his performance in that save situation in Atlanta. He did pitch himself into trouble, but he also pitched his way out of it.

The sad thing is that there's a reasonable chance that he'll pitch once or twice and then get a DFA.

Weather forecast looks okay. The latest I've seen shows the rain pretty much holding off until around 4 p.m.

But he can do minor league rehab before that, correct?

    Number of relievers, by year. This does not include position players doing mop-up duty: 1962 17 1963 13 1964 20 1965 19 1966 19 1967 25 1968 13 1969 13 1970 14 1971 13 1972 13 1973 13 1974 13 1975 14 1976 12 1977 10 1978 13 1979 16 1980 14 1981 16 1982 15 1983 12 1984 11 1985 14 1986 13 1987 14 1988 11 1989 17 1990 11 1991 13 1992 14 1993 14 1994 12 1995 14 1996 12 1997 17 1998 13 1999 18 2000 13 2001 14 2002 19 2003 20 2004 17 2005 17 2006 17 2007 17 2008 18 2009 18 2010 16 2011 21 2012 21 2013 21 2014 17 2015 22 2016 19 2017 23 2018 24 2019 25 2020 20 2021 31 2022 24 2023 28 2024 10

No, I think what would happen is the new team would pay him the major league minimum ($750,000?) and the Mets would be on the hook for the rest.

Edgy MD wrote: Mets Roster Central does not like DFAing perfectly good pitchers because you can't find a way to keep from burning your bullpen. That's really become the norm, hasn't it? I think maybe the biggest part of the increase in the number of players that the Mets (and other teams as well, I'm sure) have been churning through is because of relief pitchers.
