He's been rising in the ranks. Only 19 players have appeared in more Mets games than Nimmo has: 1. Ed Kranepool 1,853 2. David Wright 1,585 3. Jose Reyes 1,365 4. Bud Harrelson 1,322 5. Me too, exactly. I know how bogus SI has become, but I do peek every once in a while and always regret it.

Anything from Fansided probably isn't a "rumor"; it's more like uninformed speculation from somebody who met the low bar that qualified him or her to write for Fansided.

I was thinking the same thing. I've never heard of those people, but I suppose in the Star Trek community they may indeed be considered big shots. The world of celebrity has become very fragmented.

I wouldn't be too surprised if he landed in Syracuse after all. But if not, good luck to him. As far as backup catchers go in this current era, I suspect he wasn't half bad. https://leaptoad.com/mets/covers/2020/20200814_NSD_02.jpg> https://leaptoad.com/mets/covers/2021/20210519_NYDN_02.jpg>

It would be very ballsy to trade Alonso to the Yankees. That doesn't mean it won't happen; we just don't know yet if Cohen and Stearns are quite that ballsy. (As we've seen in that college photo in the other thread, Alonso certainly is.)

I think he's saying that there will be less demand for Alonso, because he may not be that much of an upgrade for most of the contending teams. So with less demand, comes less value in return. If the Mets are sellers at the deadline, and they can get Pat Zachry, Steve Henderson, Doug Flynn, and Dan Norman in return, then I guess they should do it. But if they get significantly less than that, which is very likely, I'd rather they kept Pete.

The larger point is very valid.

I've seen other consensus that says that the return in prospects for a half season of Alonso isn't going to be that impressive. If all they can get is a mediocre return, then it's probably better to keep him. But of course, if they do go into "sell mode", then they should certainly listen to what other teams are offering for Pete.

WTF is "Build Submarines"?

Zoom logo on the helmets???

Very strange to see no fans behind home plate when viewed from the center field camera.

I see that Dom Hamel has a 7.29 ERA in eleven starts at Syracuse. Maybe it's time to At least Blade Tidwell is tiding well at Binghamton.

Anthony DiComo wrote: Alonso intended to check off many of the same sightseeing highlights as Manaea, with perhaps one other destination in mind. "I think yelling at the fuzzy-hat guards would be fun," Alonso said, referring to the famously stoic King's Guard outside Buckingham and St James's Palaces. I guess not all players can be as sophisticated as Ron Darling.
